When I went to get my new eye glasses I was adamant about one thing: I did not want the anti-reflective coating. I've had it before-- it's a nightmare to clean and then it does not stay clean. The optical assistant/ receptionist told me that the coating had changed a lot in 13 years and went on and on about how I should give it another try.
I got my glasses and, to my chagrin, the anti-reflective coating was giving me the same problems as before. When I called to explain the problem, I was told that a refund wasn't possible, in a rude sort of way. I also went in to the shop to talk to her and show her what I was talking about...no refund. She suggested that I wash my glasses more often and said, ""hey, at least you only paid 60.00 for the coating--it's normally 120.00!"" As if that made it any better...
Okay, so... ""my bad"" for letting them talk me into something I didn't need or want. But, something that is important to me is being able to trust my eye care professional's advice. I don't want to feel like they are just trying to make a quick sale--which I feel like they did.
