I really wish I had done more research before taking my daughter's homecoming dress to this lady for alteration . . . I would have saved myself time, money and frustration. I picked up the dress approximately a month after the initial visit and brought it home for my daughter to try on. There was a very large area of pulling and bunching in the bodice area. We could have dealt with this if not for the back of the dress. The work done on the back of this strapless dress was absolutely horrid! Where she took in the dress, the seams where the bodice is attached to the skirt didn't even match up!! Honestly, how can a professional not match seams? Plus, she didn't ""clean-finish"" the two seams in the back area she sewed. Meaning the edges of the two seams were sticking above the edge of the dress underneath my daughter's should blades - for all to see. A professional should have folded the seams underneath and stitched them in place. When I called, she did agree to look at the dress ""first thing in the morning"". Meaning I would have to check my daughter out of school. She couldn't even guarantee if the repair work would be completed in time for the dance 6 days away. Her terse reply? ""Well, the dress has been ready for a long time!"" REALLY? Well, I just got a call from her right before her shop closed for the day on Friday 10-22 and picked it up the next available day - Monday 10-25. When I told her this was the absolute worst tailoring I had ever seen, she said she would not help me if I was going to ""be like that"". I asked, ""You mean I can't even express my displeasure with a job I paid almost $40.00 for?"" and she replied, ""Not if you're gonna be like that!"" She did not entertain the thought of a partial refund, accommodating my daughter's school schedule, or guaranteeing a timely repair for HER mistake. If you are entertaining using this lady for alterations, please ask around first. However, your experience with her may be different than mine. I certainly hope so.
