Hedges Used Cars

I bought a 1995 Plymouth Neon from them in 2007 and I still have it...AND it still runs!! They were wonderful at working with me and the price range I had. Very understanding when I sent in a late payment. I recommend Hedges to EVERYONE!! As always when you buy a used car or ANY product, you have to have some understanding of how the product works. Then take it to a trusted mechanic to check it out BEFORE you buy it! I did, and I've NEVER regretted the experience!! more

My son recently bought a car from Hedges in Carleton for around $1300.00...left for home (PA) the next morning...didn't even make it home to before the brakes go out (yes, pedal almost to the floor)..he took it to a shop who said they wouldn't fix it because it wasn't safe to be on the road. Took it to another couple places including Pep Boys who said 'yes' they'd fix it for $2300.00! Needless to say I was irritated with these guys for selling my son this car (and no, I'm not buying that they didn't know anything was wrong with it but they DID know a young man was spending his own hard earned money for reliable transportation)...so I went in to tell them how I felt...I met with 'Joe' who says it's a shame that the car isn't in Michigan because he's sure it could be fixed cheap by 'his' guys. My husband then buys ANOTHER car (from the auction), rents a car hauler and takes it to our son. He hauls the 'hedges car' back to Michigan and contacts Hedges to give 'their guy' a chance to do what Joe said...but THAT garage says they can't fix the car either...one other place says they could possibly fix it for around $1,000... Hedges offered to buy the car back for $600. more

I live in Lincoln Park and have been using Hedges since 2005 I have bought three cars and have sent at least 28 people to at least check them out. They are good people that do not want to see anyone suffer through a bad car. If you have the money the cars have great prices and they will tell you up front you have a family I would not recomend that car for you cause its going to need work. I saw the other post and I dont understand that. I have been through the purchase process and I was allways warned weither it was brakes or engine rattle. They do have a back row that they sell cheap however they allways warn that they are fixer upers. You get what you pay for anywhere but I had a 950.00 last three years and 3000.00 van last only one. I have bought 5 vehicles from Hedges. 1st of all, they are used cars which means you have to check them out carefully. Hedges gladly allows you to take the car to a mechanic of your own choice to inspect the car before you purchase it, which i do. I have had very good luck with my purchases. A Mazda I bought from them was one of the best cars ive owned! Their prices are very reasonable and fair and the owner will work with you on the price and terms. If you get a bad car from them, you didnt check it out very well on your own! My daughter bought a Chrysler convertable from Hedges more than 2 years ago. It still is a very good car with very few problems and she adores it. I will purchse all of my needed used vehicles from Hedges without a second thought! Pros: Helpfulness and allows independent inspections of your choice! Cons: Used cars are unpredictable. more

Ma'am im sory for what happened to you but i didnt have aproblem with these guys when i bought my truck they even gave me a deal about $300 less than the sticker price. I have had my ranger for nearly a year now and no problems that i didnt cause i recomend this place to any one who knows what to look for in cars and any one who knows how to bargain these guys well prolly give a good deal Pros: good deals on decent cars Cons: small lot have to know what to look for more

I bought a car from here when I was 9 months pregnant, just to get it home to find out it had an OBVIOUS gas leak. If you fill the gas past 1/4 of a tank it just poors out. There is NO WAY these people could have not known. Even when there's less than a 1/4 tank in it you can still smell the gas enough to know something's not right. For them to have sold a car like that to someone who's obviously putting a new baby in it very soon, is just ridiculous. I would stay far away from this business. They have only themselves in mind. Not your safety. more
