I was introduced to Headset by a friend years ago, Amy initially. One visit she was away and I took an appointment with Doug. He seemed to know what I was looking for and made the extra effort to insure the ole head was professionally trim. Been with him ever since. When he moved from Headset, I lost touch for a few weeks then discovered he parted ways opening his own salon with Amy - Pure Salon 1107 Lowerline. Just as easy to get to as Headset was from my shop so any old appointment time works. I have been going to Shannon for the past 10 years and I have never had anybody in my life do my hair better than he can. Before I went to Shannon my hair was the wrong color for my complexion and my haircut didn't compliment my style. My past stylists didn't really consult with me...BUT SHANNON DOES! My hair has never been so manageable and shiny in my whole life. He sits down with me and asks me what I want to try and HE makes it happen. I have never received more compliments than I do now! I also never liked updos on myself but Shannon did this truly incredible updo for the Mardi Gras balls last year....it was stunning. I COULD NEVER SEE MYSELF GOING ANYWHERE ELSE! I just got my hair done this morning, yes in this tropical depression that we are having, and I walked around to some shops down the street and my hair is still gorgeous! It didn't frizz, and it swings just like I was just getting out of the chair!!!!!! I LOVE SHANNON!!! He is truly quality! Everyone I recommended loves him...no matter what hair type! ONCE IN EVERYONE'S LIFE THEY NEED TO HAVE AN EXPERIENCE LIKE THIS! more

I agree with the previous posts regarding Doug! He's the only person I allow to touch my hair... and have been going to him since before the storm! Always gives me exactly what I want!!! UPDATE: Doug is no longer at Headset on Magazine... He has opened his own salon called PURE! It's ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!! I agree w/ previous poster - Doug is awesome. This was the first time I had my hair done since I moved to Nola a year ago. I had an idea for some color and he was honest with me - yes, it can be done and look good. But he'd need to see me back in about 6-8 weeks to cover up those roots - was I ready for that kind of commitment? I wasn't. So we agreed on something a little different but still accomplished what I wanted, to go overall lighter and sunnier. And I don't have to be back in 6 weeks, thanks Doug! He also have me a cut which got off all my dead ends (after a year with no trims, there were a LOT) but still kept as much length as possible while keeping with my super easy maintenance rule (wash, condition, brush, go...). Pros: professionalism, atmosphere, reasonable prices Cons: parking...kinda more

Doug is the absolute best hair stylist ever. Not only is he amazing at what he does, he's honest (I wish more people's stylists were!), he shows you how to get the same results at home, and the conversation is always great! I go to him for both my cut and color and couldn't imagine going to anyone else! I have recommended him to all my friends and they love him just as much as I do! Giarina at Headset Salon is one of the best estheticians out there! She is very thorough and takes her time with a facial. And her brows are the best. She uses Dermalogica products and they work! Pros: Thumbs up on hair and skin Cons: sometimes you have to park on the street more

Robbie Huard and the guys at Headsets are the best. Very casual atmospher with the utmost professional staff. I love these guys and this place. Also very reasonable charges. more
