I like to try as many sushi places around here as possible and keep coming back here. It's not a large sushi place, it's actually small and gets packed in the evenings. The ambiance is cozy. Their fish is fresh, nigiri and maki is good, sushi selection is good (no toro though!), service is good most of the time. They like to give special attention to repeat customers. Their rainbow rolls and spicy tuna rolls are excellent. They also have cooked food on the menu for non-sushi eaters. Their prices are about average to below average for sushi restaurants around here in Lake County, and much cheaper than ones in Chicago. Well worth the price! If you want to eat good sushi and don't expect to enter a very fancy/hip place like the ones you see in Chicago, you'll enjoy Hayashi.
Pros: not expensive, good sushi, good variety
