I purchased a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I knew it had a couple of issues. We came to a fair price for these issues. So I thought, 20 miles out of town it broke down. I knew it had a patched hole in the tranny pan. The car started smoking and was leaking tranny fluid, so of course I assumed responsibility since I knew of the hole. Tough luck but oh well. I had it towed 100 miles to Grandville to my friend's shop. He now tells me that the Torque Converter Tranny Seal is bad, and that there are fresh scrape marks where someone tried to clean it up. Also it's missing a bolt or 2 and others are loose. He said that no mechanic worth a crap would miss this and that I should call the dealer and work out a fair deal to have it fixed. My buddy is only charging me 350-400 to fix it. So I call up and get the usual ""you bought it as-is, we're sorry but tough"" line of crap. They said it was suspicious that i had it towed all the way to grandville (I LIVE IN HOLLAND!) and I thought it was the same issue we had already worked out a price based on. I was lied to blatantly. I was told I could not have the boss's phone number and that she would not do anything anyhow. I finally talked to the boss lady and she offered to buy the vehicle back. That's a fine offer, but I'd have to pay 400.00 to have it towed back to them and that's what it will cost to fix it. I was lied to, they attempted to cover themselves by offering me a ""Way out"" that would cost me the same as fixing it, and showed absolutely no compassion. I would have gotten a better deal had they disclosed this issue. I have reported it to the BBB, and I will be writing reviews on every site I can find, to save YOU from having to deal with this shady crap.
