My family and i went to Hard Times to hold a repass for a family member, and from the moment we walked in it was a train wreck waiting to happen, there was no one to seat us when we first entered so it was like playing a game of musical chairs. When we did get seated there were 8 salads on the family table and none of our 50 guest were served one. Then to our horror they gave our guest styro foam plates, the kind you get in elementry school for our guest to eat from, then the guest waited for awile for the salads that were unprepared and not ready to serve therefore, leaving the ONE waiter assigned to serve the entire party to return to the kitchen to prepare and serve 50 salads the guest complained that the salads were wilted and not fresh. the water came after the salads, there was no water on every table guest had to flag down the ONE waiter for water, basic water. The only table that had bread was the family table, why were the guest excluded from that luxurgy of bread? The food came out so slow I thought it was crawling to the guest, then they gave one table sour mashed potatoes that looked sour, cold chicken, no water, no bread, and no vegetables left out in the cold. It was pitiful, i think prisoners get served better. I would never think of serving guest on a styrofoam plate in a resturant without prior warning, that calles its self ""Fine, Elegant, Dinning"". We were told that we were to be served buffet style, but those crooks decived us and served it family style, the buffett would of been alot more smooth. The iced tea was over glorfied sugar water, it was not good at all. And the dessert left alot to be desired, i dident know if was at ""The Taste of Chicago"" or a dinner, they served dessert out of tiny styrofoam cups, the small taste had me tasting for a larger portion. The Manger Mr. Davis was a sight to see, he argued with my mother over the starting time, he tried to add guest that were in our original party, his staff watched from a distance and did nothing to help or make us feel welcomed. After the catastrophic dinning experence, we insisted to speak to the owner to be compensated for our pain and suffering. The owner was no where to be found, she just vanished our family had to wait 2 hours to speak to her about the service she failed to provide. She blamed her employee's, made many excuses, and told one sad sob story after another to justify her actions. When in reality if she would of stayed around to supervise like a good business owner all of this could of been avoided, she put a delivery before a 50 guest party and she knew this before hand. They discusses the number of people we had in an attempt to get more payment, in front of guest. To top the cake here we were unknowingly overcharged for gratuity, with that type of service it was pitiful, how ironic. I would NEVER recommend there services to anyone i know not even my worst enemy. I see why they call this place ""HARD TIMES"", they really have a ""hard time"" serving up better luck next time
