Our roof and gutters were in need of a complete overhaul, and I couldn?t be more satisfied with the quality products we received from 1-800-hansons. It has been nearly 10 years and we have had zero issues. What I do remember was the great experience we had during the installation ? Hansons made sure our landscaping was taken care or, and were very neat. And the fact that our roof and gutters still look just as new as the day we received them makes us more than satisfied with our experience. I am writing this because our next-door-neighbors went with another company and had the complete opposite experience. Now I bet that they wish they went with Hansons Windows as well! more

I purchased a home that needed a lot of work, including all new windows and siding. I called 4 companies for estimates but decided to go with Hansons Windows. From the salesman who came out to our home, who was prompt and knowledgeable, to the installers, who were neat and worked quickly, were above par. Additionally, after our black lab damaged our doorwall screen, Hansons came out days later to replace it. Great service. Our Hansons Windows installers were a couple minutes early which was fine with us. It was very cold and snowy but they were careful not to make a mess in our house. Both the installers and our salesman were very courteous and professional. Additionally, our rep was not overly aggressive which is what we had anticipated. He actually assisted us with a 2007 problem we had with Hansons and resolved it to our satisfaction. He gave us clear expectations and worked with us. We have no complaints whatsoever about our 1-800-hansons experience. And our windows look great. We also like knowing that Hansons is local and plans on staying in business. I recently purchased a foreclosed home in Oak Park, Michigan and it needed tons of work. I shopped around and obtained quotes from a number of different companies. I finally decided to have Hansons Windows do my installation. My sales representative was very down to earth and patient. He was in the company of my six year old son and my 3 year old cousin (who's mother happens to be stationed in Kuwait) They were having a ""power play-date"" and my sales rep didn't skip a beat. He explained the process clearly to my husband and I and also gave us important tax tips regarding our energy efficient window tax rebates and the savings in heating bills. Our installers and project managers called early and to schedule the installation. My install was seamless and efficient. I have 3 more windows that will need to be replaced in the near future and I am certain that I will have Hansons provide the product and services. I had been dead set on purchasing my own windows from Home Depot and installing them myself, until my wife talked me into getting an estimate from 1-800-HANSONS. To be honest, I thought it was a waste of time until 5 minutes into our conversation with the salesman. He knew his stuff ? from the products that Hansons Windows offers, to the history of the company? he even gave us his professional advice on what would look best in our house for a GREAT price. We even qualified for the federal tax credit which he also assisted us with. My wife and I went with his suggestion and couldn?t be more satisfied with our decision. I?m an old customer of Hansons Windows, going back to 2001 when Hansons redid much of my former Madison Heights home ? including 16 windows, one 8-ft. door wall, 3 storm doors, new steel and glass double entry doors, vinyl siding and gutters. The Hansons Windows team did a wonderful job on our siding and gutters. From our salesman, Larry, to the crew leader, Liz, to the crew themselves --- it was a great experience. The job was completed yesterday and we are already noticing a difference in the house. Before any work was done, our house had a 20 degree difference between the downstairs and upstairs. After the windows were put in by Hansons a couple years ago, the degree difference dropped to a 10 degree difference. Now that the siding has been installed, however, the temperature is the same! When I purchased my new Hansons windows, our sales rep. was very knowledgeable and informative about all of the window features. He was also very kind and answered all of our questions. Hansons was my first choice for home improvements so I didn't bother shopping around. The staff was very polite and the crew cleaned up after themselves. Hansons is a great company with friendly, reliable and knowledgeable staff that have a ""can do"" attitude. I decided to call Hansons for a quote to replace my home windows and signed up for a free in home estimation on their website and below is my poor experience with Hansons. 1. Their rep called me and asked me if my wife will join me or not. They even asked her name and told me to ensure that she stays home during estimation and demonstration. That was just the beginning of my annoying experience. 2. The Hanson Rep showed up very next day and took measurements, made a lengthy computer presentation , criticized all the window manufacturers, showed us on computer that Hansons is #8 in the 625,000 home renovation companies in the US (We learned from this forum that this is not true and he clearly lied to us!). We also noticed that the rep had no in depth knowledge about the window construction as he asked for our pardon at least 3 times after we asked him some tricky questions which he just guessed and answered and found himself in trouble. 3. Later when I told him about visits by other competitors for estimation, he insisted that I tell him the quote numbers from them before he gives me his quote!! He was so adamant that he 'begged' me to at least give him a range that they quoted us and the price we expect from Hansons. 4. He later showed us his quote and told us that his is the best quote and we must order it today to get that price!! After long conversation, we told him that we need time to think and will call him back. The guy insisted that we MUST make a decision to buy right there and also said arrogantly that we will be' Fools' to just let him go without buying and signing up!! Now that was the 'rudest' comment I heard from any sales person!! 5. He just didn't stop there...!! He said he will wait outside in his car to give us privacy and make decision. Guess what? He was waiting outside for 25 minute...when we thought he would just go away, but he didn't!! I went outside and told him that we can't make decision today and that he can leave...He gave me that real 'bad' look and said that he never left a house without selling and this is for the first time he is leaving without having a customer sign up. He even told me that Hansons will have some losses because of this waste of his time today at our home...( that comment was very weird !!) I could see the guy was very angry. I came back home and saw this forum and I am glad we didn't sign up or buy from Hansons today..and will absolutely never ever consider Hansons even for free estimation. When Hansons Windows sent out a Sales Manager, we were very happy with him. He did a thorough job of measuring the house.....taking at least 45 minutes. His diagram with the measurements was very detailed, giving us confidence that he knew what he was doing. He gave us complete details on what was offered and what our choices were. He even showed us a demonstration of how the windows worked. Overall, he was very personable and did whatever he could to make a great impression. It's obvious Hansons wrote the previous reviews internally. Especially considering that they were all wrote within a few days of each other (not to mention all rave reviews). Let's be real--nice try though. Everyone is keen on Hansons high pressure sales tactics (altough their ads declare otherwise). Hansons will do anything to get in your door-- Guarantee the Best Price in Writing& PromiseNo High Pressure Sales. But when they get there, all promises are left at the door. My sales rep sat in our kitchen for 2 hours and wouldn't leave until I threatened to call the police. Go with a local licensed company for your windows and siding. This is our third time calling Hansons Windows and Siding for their products and each time we were very satisfied with the presentation.The crews were very professional and courteous and did a great job on our windows and siding. We have people walk by the house weekly who admire the work done on our windows. Even our neighbor whose husband works for Pella windows commented on how good they look.We had to have some minor adjustments on the work but the Hansons staff again handled it with great integrity and professionalism. Hansons had such a quick response to my problem concerning my roof. The Hansons service technician came quickly and inspected the roof and fixed the problem. It's refreshing to find a company that takes care of their customer well, long after the service. The reason I chose Hansons to do the job on my roof and siding was because of its refutation for customer satisfaction. We just recently had replacement windows throughout our house.. 10 windows, 2 sliding glass doors, and a storm door. i have a one and two year old and they were great with them. They had the windows out and in in no time so the kids were't trying to climb out the open area. They even closed the gates behind them so the kids didnt get to the stairs. They left no mess in the house during or after they were working, and outdoors was completely cleaned up. They answered all questions I had about the windows and even saved the sliding doors for a friend of mine. I was suprised how quickly the job was done and was overall very satisfied with the windows and installation process... one request.. you need to invent fingerproof windows for us moms of sticky fingered toddlers:) that would be great!. more
