As an animal advocate who works knee deep in rescue, I've seen a lot but what I experienced with this vet and thier vet techs is a first. Long story short, the essentially killed one of my rescue dogs I entrusted to their care by proceeding with a medically unnecessary surgical procedure (spay) while he was a strong heartworm positive. They did not exercise even a modicum let alone an abundance of caution as they should have and because of this the dog died a horrible death. To top it off, their vet tech sent me a text that reads "as far as we're concerned, this dog was suppose to be dead anyway". In their minds, this dog "Zurabi", because he was rescued from a kill shelter, did not deserve the same level of care that any other dog did. The vet, Dr. Anna, was completely condescending and deflective of any responsibility and fully suppored the words and actions of her very young, inexperienced and unskilled vet techs. Read their reviews on Yelp and some here as well. It is heartbreaking to read the stories of people who lost their dogs because of similar incidents, never to receive even a modest amount of sympathy or compassion from these people They are responsible for quite a few deaths and they simply do not care. This dog fought so hard to live, spending months in a kill shelter only to be killed by being put under anesthesia when any decent vet would refuse to operate on a heartworm positive dog. The owners of this animal hospital fully supported their vet techs in harassing me and threatening me via a barrage of text messages. Think twice before you have them perform any type of surgical procedure on your pet. It simply is not worth the risk and these people are beyond reprehensible.
