A $25 entree is an unusual splurge for us and we tend to expect a lot for that kind of money. In many ways, Hal's delivered. Rich's turkey burger was tasty if unremarkable, but the accompanying salad was incredibly delicious. Chris thought his pork mignon was outstanding, and the risotto with carmelized onions was sublime.
However, something was observed that kind of killed the mood. A series of comped deserts that followed were of varying quality. The sorbet trio was bright and refreshing and the chocolate cake had a slight bitterness that was compelling, but the lime tart was very runny.
On the whole, if you can forgive the (censored) and the half-hearted attempt to compensate for it, it was an enjoyable, albeit noisy, dining experience.
