Nowhere Else I?d Rather Be Watching My Giants 11/5/2009

If you haven?t been to Hi5, at least to watch a game, you need to. The place is filled with TVs and like-minded sports fans. They even have their own free fantasy football league with prizes each week. Really one of the best places in the Triangle to watch a game. Pros: TVs more

Great Hangout Spot, Period. 9/24/2009

I started frequenting Hi5 last year after I was told all of their food on the menu was $5. Not only is it actually pretty tasty, but it turns out that it?s a great little underground sports bar too. All of the booths have miniature flat screen TVs, a serious plus during football, hockey and basketball seasons. Pros: food price & tvs more

Cheap food, expensive booze 4/8/2009

The food is great...they just get to compensate how much money they lose from it, with over charging on drinks. I would rather go somewhere else where everything evens out! Pros: food Cons: overpriced drinks, crowd more

Great place to watch the game 3/16/2009

My friends and I were looking for a good place to watch the games this weekend and one of them mentioned Hi5, so we decided to go there. This place is an awesome place to watch the games ? I mean each booth has its own flat screen. Hi5 is my new spot to watch the games and would highly recommend it. Pros: TVs more

Pleasant Surprise 3/10/2009

Hi5 $5 menu Pros: Great Food, Unbelievable Price more

Just Ridiculous 2/19/2009

I visited hi-5 with my friends for the first time for my birthday in january and may i say that it was the WORST time I have ever had. I had visited the red room and had a great time but many people said hi-5 was better. We left a good time and stepped into a HELL HOLE! First of all, we had to wait in the cold for almost an hour because we had on coats (it was 35 degree weather) and the coat check was full and coat check is mandatory. The bartender charged us twice for drinks. The music was horrible and when the dj played a good song, you couldn't enjoy yourself because the room was so smoky that your eyes burned. Guys were pushing us all over the floor and jumping up smacking hands with their homeboys. All in all, i will not recommend hi-5 to anyone but smokers and those who are paying cash for your drinks. Maybe you won't get charged twice. It was a horrible experience and I will, from now on, stick to the Red Room and Bogarts. Pros: We got a dirty table fast Cons: The Waiting, The DJ, The Ambience more

It's gone downhill!! 2/8/2009

My husband and I use to go to Hi 5 for the Kobe beef burgers at least once a week. When we first started going a year ago, things were fine... GREAT food, good customer service and nice local beers on tap that you couldn't get anywhere else. Pros: Kobe Burgers Cons: the service and overall motivation of the workers more

We have found our new Tuesday night hang out. 12/23/2008

I recently went with a group of friends to Hi5 on a Tuesday night ? they had the most amazing special ? Everything behind the bar was $4, I mean everything Patron to Grey Goose. We have found our new Tuesday night hang out. Pros: $4 Patron!! more

I recently went to Hi5 and loved this place! 11/12/2008

I recently went to Hi5 and loved this place! With a huge bar and epic TV?s, how can you not have fun? The 5 dollar price tags on everything on the menu don?t hurt either. Food: check, TV?s: check, Dance Floors: check! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to go to have fun in Glenwood South. Pros: Food & Fun more

Rude and obnoxious bouncers and Raleigh Police officers 10/30/2008

I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIGH 5 on a weekend night. The clientele they ask for is what they get. We tried to go out on a night with friends for a anniversary party. We were not allowed in with improper shoes. However, three girls with skirts up their huge backsides (for a proper choice of words) were let in. All we had to do was ask one question calmly about it before we had 3 bouncers pushing us up the steps and screaming at us. We were told to wait on a manager approval then this happened. Then the Raleigh Police officer, hired by the bar got involved. We just wanted to leave at this point, is all we stated and go down the street, that was not a option. In fact if we talked we were going to jail according to this officer ""off duty"". Well sure enough, the Raleigh Police officer ""off duty"" pushed one of the girls and stepped on her foot. As she was calling 911 for help, the officer stated, ""no need for that, I am going to arrest you for assault"". Assault on him, a 240lbs man coming from a 120lbs female. Keep in mind, this girl was on her engagement party night. Is this what you want to be involved in, or celebrate a special occasion with friends. Turns out the cop was off duty, and his buddies didn't know why he was taking our friend to jail. Its seemed to be a misunderstanding or overreaction ""quoted words from a officer on scene"", needless to say 2 hours later, and no engagement party. We got her out of jail. But let this be a lesson to you. We had sober people in the crowd. They will push you around and make sure they do what they want with you. There are allot of places in this town I would recommend. DON'T RUIN YOUR NIGHT AT THIS BAR!!!! Pros: great tv's Cons: terrible rude bouncers and hired off duty police. more

Go if you Dare! Thug Bouncers 10/25/2008

I walked out of the bar last night with a bottle of water I just bought. The bouncer tried to take it from me, when I refused instead of explaining why they wanted my water bottle. 3 thug bouncers attacked me on the sidewalk and strangled me. The cops came and instead of questioning the bouncers motives they took me to jail. Now I have a sore neck and jaw and a story about a night in jail which was not pleasant. more

Definitely try it out. 7/20/2008

Me and my friends went to Hi5 on Monday because all their beer is only $3 and the bartenders make up a shot that?s only a dollar. It?s a great place to watch games on their in-booth plasma tvs and just kick back. Definitely try it out. Pros: great price on food and drinks more

Great Place To Go Watch A Game 6/30/2008

I went to Hi-5 about a week ago to watch the College World Series because a few of my friends told me that it was the best place to go watch ACC teams play. The food was great, and seriously ? everything was $5! My friends and I ordered a bunch of appetizers - the buffalo wings were great and we ordered buckets of beer. There were TVs in every booth so everyone could see and the picture was great because they are all plasmas. Hi-5 was a great place to go and watch the game. I?ll definitely be going back. Pros: Beer Selection, Price, TV's more

Rude Bouncer 7/27/2007

Yea we went up to the door and i simply asked the bouncer how old you had to be to get in. He Said :at least 21"" but he was EXTREMELY rude to me and my friend. Granted that We could've gotten in but went elsewhere and had a really great time. So forget Hi 5 and Go to a different club. There are plenty other places with nicer, and better looking, bouncers. more

$5!!!! You will not believe it! 7/25/2007

Went to Hi 5 to watch the Espy's with some friends last week and I was amazed that all the food really is 5 bucks! I was expecting a catch but there was none. The bartender was very attentive and the food was outstanding, I would expect to pay double if not triple other places for the portions I got. Great beer list too. Keep it up guys! Pros: Like I said, 5 bucks!!! Service, abundance of t.v.'s more

go there! 7/25/2007

the whole menu is $5!!!! - and it all tastes great! definitely will go back often bcs this place meets any budget since they had a drink special all the time too. Pros: cheap, good food & good beer selection more

bad experience because of poor management 7/20/2007

I really like going to Glenwood and bar going to different bars. This past Sat. me and my friend ended up in Hi5, we had some drinks and I left the tab open and at the end of the night I wanted to have some shots and then pay out my tab. The bartender lost my card and then claimed that I never opened a tab. I told her she had my card so she came back with some guy that I assume was the manager because he was not wearing a black shirt he was wearing a white shirt he yelled at me stating that he did not have my card and told me he was going to kick me out if I did not leave but I was not going to leave with my card so he got me kicked out. I did not cause a scene I just told the bouncer that I wanted my card. The bouncer was more professional than the manager and helped me with the situation. After everyone left I went back inside and had another bartender help me find my card and when he couldn't find it he got another manager to talk to me this one was going to just give me his business card and let me leave but I refused to leave without my card so he asked me who was my bartender and I told him who it was then she came around really quick with my card and left even quicker. It was obvious that I wasn't at fault and requested that the other manager apologize for his mistake but even that was too much to ask. So I got treated like some stupid drunk, got yelled at, got kicked out, and had to wait an extra hour for the place to clear because someone did not do their job right. If you are going to go to this place make sure you bring cash so you wont have to go through the same experience I did. Pros: crowd Cons: Poor service due to managment more

Cheap, trendy, sporty, fun, and delicious! 6/25/2007

I had read a little about Hi5 and the other restaurants at the 510 Glenwood address, and we decided to try it for dinner. At 5pm it wasn't very crowded, but the place had a wonderful atmosphere. Hip and clean, there were flat-screen TVs playing various sports channels all over the place. We were greeted by a nice hostess and taken to a cute booth. The seats are high up and each booth has its own little TV, so it was a nice setting - cozy. The menu ranged from appetizers to burgers to salads to desserts, and MOST everything was $5. Upgrading to their specialty Kobe beef brought the cost up by $3, but that's pretty normal for burger prices anyway. Our waitress was very friendly and introduced us to their specials (including $3 beers every Monday). My boyfriend enjoyed his Kobe Beef cheeseburger, and I really liked my Grilled Chicken Salad (Unique, with grapes, cashews, mesculin mix, brie, and a ranch peppercorn dressing). We didn't even need fries or anything, though if we had it would have been only $5 extra. We finished with their ""s'more shooter"" desserts -- perfectly sized for 2 people and DELICIOUS! This restaurant was awesome and we can't wait to go back! Pros: good food and atmosphere at a low price and lots of drink specials Cons: difficult to park more
