Where to Get the Red-Carpet Look: Gustavo Briand Studio 7/24/2011

I did my hair with all three: Patricia, Cristian and Gustavo. I am very hard to please. All three have "wowed" me. Patricia has a keen eye for precision and symmetry, and her haircuts are classy and well-groomed. Cristian is the Michelangelo of colorists. Before your color, he will study your hair together with your complexion to ensure your color looks natural. Gustavo has a gift for giving your hair a modern personality. He genuinely loves the clients and wants to see them happy. I browsed through the (very rare) negative reviews and saw two trends: bad haircut/color and price. The former stems from bad communication from clients who didn't express what they wanted. As for price, the salon posts its prices on the website, so price should be no surprise. The salon staff, above all, is warm, down-to-earth and welcoming. You will leave the salon looking and feeling beautiful. more

Best Haircutter 5/28/2011

We know that most people employed in salons do not know how to cut hair. But this guy Gustavo is amazing! He is gifted and intuitive and really knows his stuff! The salon is not the loud phony typical salon, and tastefully done for a small space. I would highly recommend! more

Wonderful! 5/22/2011

I came to Miami for a vacation and was looking to have my hair cut & colored while on my trip. I used Citysearch to find Gustavo Briand, & I'm so glad that I did! I'm very picky about my hair, & I've had my fair share of amazing & horrible haircuts, in both small towns & large cities all over the U.S. Gustavo gave me one of the best haircuts & colors that I've ever had. I also had a wonderful experience while in the salon - Gustavo & his staff made me so comfortable, & were so professional. I'm looking forward to going back the next time I'm in Miami! Highly recommended. more

Gustavo Briand is the Best, BUT... 5/6/2011

Gustavo's Salon is my second home, since I am there at least 3 x a month. I love Cristian who gives me the best color and always surprises me with the most beautiful blow out. He is so sweet, attentive, caring and understanding of all my needs and moods (which I have, I must addmit). Dragana, the receptionist, or the soul of the Salon is a rare gem, If you are lucky to engage into conversation with her, your day will change for better, instantly. The only thing bothering me is the music in the Salon and Gustavo's attitude. I made the comment the other day about the music, just kindly asking to change it to something relaxing and I got rude answer: You don't like it, but I do! I hope Gustavo will understand soon that clients like me are paying pretty high prices ( I am not complaining about that), and it's about what clients like. It's not about what he likes. Whatever he likes, he can listen at home (just a friendly suggestion). more

CRISTIAN IS AMAZING :)) 5/3/2011

Longing for a new look and do something nice for myself I decided to try this Salon and found out about it through this website. I just had may hair colored today by Cristian and he is amazing. Very professional, attentive, and listens to what his client wants. It seems to me that he took the image of what I wanted myself to look like in my head and he made it happen. I could not believe how great the color came out, the highlights looked so natural, and how he styled my hair and made these romantic waves with it. He is truly an artist using the latest in hair color and care. I really appreciated all the time and effort he but into my hair. I will definitely return to CRISTIAN and would recommend him to family and friends. Cristian is five stars on my list. I was scared about trying a new salon with new people but give him a try he is excellent you will not regret it. I also had my haircut by Gustavo the owner, had a rough start with him he kept me waiting once he had the time to approach me I mentioned to him that my boyfriend does not like my hair short and he won't let me back in the house if it is too short as a joke he stated I did not have threaten him with that statement ... and stated he actually likes his clients to grow long hair. Yikes what a snappy response. Later his personal phone ringing all the time and my having to wait for him to finish his calls in between cutting my hair. I thought his behavior was very unprofessional he made it seem like his calls were more important than the client he had in his chair.. He did apologize for the inconvenience and did some touch up my bangs prior to leaving which helped lessen the awkward moments had. Apologies were accepted and I moved on but it still left me with a bad impression.I would have given this salon a 5 star if it were not for my hair cutting experience. All in all my haircut did come out lovely and so did my color :) I do not know though if it was worth $450 dollars yikes especially for a Grad Student ... I will see how my hair grows out in the following months. more

Patricia is well worth the trip!!! 2/28/2011

I'm sure many will agree that when you find a hair stylist that you love, you will often travel for or follow them wherever they go. I have found that in Patricia at Gustavo Briand Studio on Miami Beach! I first came to Gustavo Briand over a year ago while visiting Miami. I was in desperate need of a new look/cut to my long hair. I normally wouldn't blindly walk in to a salon and have someone I don't know cut my hair but I was in desperate need of help asmy hair had just gotten all together too long and lifeless. I had heard good things about the salon and decided I would give it a try. Luckily, I got a same day appointment with Patricia who was so sweet and listened to my ideas and concerns. My cut was GORGEOUS, bouncy, healthy and so shiny afterwards....the blow out was too amazing for words! I now look forward towards my trips to Florida not only for the beaches and sun but for a relaxing trip to the salon before a night out on the town! This past time I visited, Patricia gave me a brazilian straightening treatment that made my hair so shiny and manageable. I am in love with the look of my hair and also how much easier it is to style on a daily basis, Patricia is the best! Again, besides her professionalism and talent she is also a sweetheart. Patricia at Gustavo Briand Studio is a 10 in my book!!! more

Gustavo is a cut and color SUPERSTAR! 2/28/2011

Gorgeous. I decided to darken my platinum blonde hair to a darker strawberry blonde and got some freaky two-toned brassy/ashy results. I called Gustavo Briand Studio and was lucky to get in with Gustavo. He suggested staying in the red family since I have porcelain skin; and since I have already had bright red hair in the past; we decided to try a deep auburn; which he thought would flatter my fair skin and blue eyes, with the cut we did cut all the dead ends, and “G” (gee) it makes a huge difference! He was right. It looks amazing. Other customers then neighbors, even my lotto girl at Publix were stopping me and complimenting me. The best part? How patient he was with my craziness and insecurity after the last disaster in that other salon. I was blown away by the service and talent. The place is super cool too; very calming vibe; and I felt comfortable even though I'm not a typical South Beach girl. more

Patricia ROCKS as Miami Beach's Hottest Stylist! 2/28/2011

I travel...A LOT. For me I need reliable self-maintenance care in the cities I frequent the most. I was lucky enough to stumble upon this little Miami Beach jewel where Patricia has so completely satisfied me with her exacting haircuts, I have no need to look any further! But wait, there's more! She also wowwed me with her talents using Brazilian Relaxer. When you have unruly, curly hair like mine, you need someone who can LISTEN (a skill of Patricia's that did not go unnoticed), takes their time and knows what to do with curly hair! It's almost like she got inside my brain and pulled out an image of precisely what I wanted~AND DELIVERED. My hair has never been this shiny and soft! I am delighted to say I am getting compliments wherever I go and I feel a lot more confident as an added bonus! I am excited to tell everyone about Patricia...she is worth her weight in GOLD! more

I can not say it enough. I love the cut that I recieved from Patricia last week. She listened to EXACTLY what I wanted. She took her time to create perfection. I couldn't be happier. I wil be returning to her for my hair cuts and I also found out she does the brazilian relaxer too! So excited to try that. Each person that says they love my hair I tell them to go to see Patricia. She will not do you wrong! She is worth every penny!! more

I got a hair cut and the brazilian relaxing treatment from Patricia. I left the salon feeling like a new woman! My new hair style makes me feel younger, sexier, and alive. Patricia is the only stylist that I've found that can actually work with my challenging hair. I just love that it only takes me a few minutes to style my hair. My new hair cut is so easy to do and I don't have to spend a lot of time. more

These guys know what they are doing. I am kind of plain looking girl, at least I thought so, until I was totally transformed by Cristian and Gustavo. They treated me as a Princess, Cris did the most beautiful base color and then he did breathtaking highlights. Gustavo gave me the best haircut ever!!! These guys are artists. The Salon atmosphere is warm, the whole stuff is sincerely kind and attentive. I felt at home. The best thing is that I do not feel as a plain girl anymore. They turned me into a traffic stopper girl!!! I found my Salon. You can trust these guys. Cris does the BEST blow dry. I look like a movie star thanks to Cris. Ladies go there and treat yourself. The Best Of The Best 1/21/2011

I have traveled all over the world and had my hair done by famous people before but none compare to Gustavo Briand. From the moment you walk in the door and are greeted by the lovely receptionist Dragana. Everyone is so attentive to my needs. The salon is located in Miami Beach . It is small but has a charming class.I first got a consultation by Gustavo and I never thought to do the things that he recommended. Gustavo changed my hair color and added a full head of high lights and finally he cut it.This man has magic fingers. What a gift from God. I was so happy that it turned out beautiful. Now I know every three months when I'm in Miami I will be getting my hair done there. By the way there is not one day that goes by when I'm out on the street that someone doesn't stop me and compliment me on my beautiful hair. Thank you Gustavo. more

Thank God I found Gustavo Briand. 1/20/2011

I recently moved from New York to Miami, and have gone through a painful experience of having my hair damaged by the top hairstylists in Miami. I was ready to give up and go back to New York only to have my hair done, but a friend of mine encouraged me to try Gustavo Briand. I was reluctant, but I did it. Thank God I did. It has been 6 months since Gustavo did my highlights for the first time, they are heavenly done, my hair is healthy again and beautiful. Gustavo, you are so talented and we are so lucky to have you here, in Miami. What would I do without you??? God bless you and your Salon. Thank you Gustavo! more

I will never go anywhere else 1/19/2011

Christian gives the BEST highlights!!!! I'm just shocked at how gorgeous and healthy my hair looks. He made my hair look very soft and natural, and undid a lot of the poor work done at my last place. I can't go anywhere else. But here's the BEST PART: I had just flown in to MIA airport and went straight to the hairdresser and the valet at our hotel burried the car and I was asking for their recommendations to find an ATM and a cab company. Here's the kicker, Christian DROVE ME BACK! They didn't want me to take a cab a night alone. Have you ever had a salon worry about you getting home safely? Patricia washed my hair (um, heavenly) and used some amazing products. I can't wait to get a haircut from her next time. I can't say enough about how great this place was. more
