This is the worst Guitar Center/music store in our area. Customer service is horrible, lazy, and rude. The staff is comprised of poser musicians who don't know what they are talking about at all. The music equipment they sell as new is terribly beat and used. The used gear is overpriced and beat as well. One would do better to shop anywhere but here. more

Is Customer Service Dead 4/11/2010

I bought a Kustom Profile System Two from Guitar Center (Totem Lake, WA store). They gave me a great price ($330) which included; (1) 300-Watt Stereo Powered Mixer (2) Line Array Speaker Cabinets (2) 25-Foot Speaker Cables Owner?s Manual Warranty Card 3 Piece Fitted Roller Bag Set (KPSRB220) However it did not include; Kustom Profile Speaker & Mixer stands (KPSSS200) This system was covered up by junk in a back corner...behind a speaker stand display. All the components, cables & bags were scattered around. What a mess ! The price was right, but now I need the Speaker and Mixer Stands. I have the bag for the stands, but not the stands. To be honest, I'm posting this because the salesman (Michael) was not engaging at all. I think he may have missed the customer service training session dealing with resolving customer problems. At one point Michael insisted that there were no stands for the Kustom speakers....as I stood there with the Kustom speaker stand bag in my hand. Go figure! I can't swear this to be true, but I saw 2 stands that looked suspiciously like the Kustom stand picture I saw online - being used on a lighting floor display. I'd like to get these speaker stands...they are NOT standard size. These are very small speakers which need to be elevated to be heard. Tis customer was NOT satisfied! more

From worst to first - great store (now) 2/28/2007

I've been shopping at this GC for years now, and it used to be poorly run and understocked; now it's the best GC in the Seattle area. There have been a couple changes in management-level personnel and I would attribute it to these changes; if you've been there in the past and didn't like it, give them another shot. They carry probably the best assortment of acoustics in the area, a good variety of electrics and basses, and have knowledgable staff and salespeople. They aren't afraid to deal a little to help you out and they'll also leave you alone if you want to try out things by yourself for a while. I personally prefer this method over the "may I help you" x 300 that you usually get at such places. The sales manager stayed half an hour after closing to let one of my friends thoroughly test a fine Martin acoustic (I was there with him) without saying a word; in fact we didn't notice until after we left. BTW he did buy the guitar. more

Candy Store for Musicians and Musician Wanta Bes 3/18/2006

The Guitar Center in Kirkland, located in the Upper Totem Lake Mall, is a feast for the eyes for the musician enthuesist in us all. You can play with the drums and not get yelled at. Except for the feeling like you are going through airport security when you come in and leave the front door, it is a musicial paradise. The staff are helpful and knowledgable, but sometimes hard to locate for a question. Maybe cause they want to let you play. more
