Horrible customer service. I ordered 4/2/2012

Horrible customer service. I ordered custom paint colors 2 weekends in a row. First, they said they would call when ready....first one got no call. Second order the next weekend, 2 days later it still had not been done even though their policy is a 24hr turnaround. (Home Depot seems to do this in under an hour with a lot more customers and the same amount of people working in their paint department) I unfortunately had no choice as they were the only ones stocking Ralph Lauren paint, but will avoid them like the plague if I can! more

GREET ME! GREET ME! LOVE ME! 2/19/2009

I just want to know who out there really feels offended if the clerk at the store doesn't smile and say hi to you? Get a dog. more

It's okay. 1/29/2008

What can I say, it's an art store. People always rave that the prices are way lower than Meininger's, but (at least on things I need -- drawing papers, charcoal, drawing/ink stuff, I don't paint) the prices are not THAT much lower. I've been here twice in the last 3-4 months and both times I felt the prices and selection were adequate (Meininger's kills it for selection but is expensive), but the customer service was terrible. I had to wait around for 5 minutes at the register just to ask a question, and later another few minutes to be rung up, and both times there were only two or three other customers in the store at the time, but at least three staff. WTF. Maybe this is why the place is never busy and Meininger's is crawling with people. (Okay and Meininger's is on Broadway, but still.) Pros: good selection compared to many places, somewhat lower prices Cons: horrible customer service, very limited street parking more

Cheaper then Minengers (who can even spell that?) 10/10/2006

A lot better than Michael's... 4/25/2006

I usually go to Michael's but I was downtown for the game, so I stopped in on my way home. I found everyone to be very friendly. The guy in the paints helped me find the paint colors I wanted and the girl in the art supply was exceptionally helpful. The only complaint I had was the lady on her cell phone who's kid kept screaming and parking was a bit tough. I'll go back in the future but maybe at a more convenient location. Pros: fast greetings, quick service Cons: Parking, yuppies more

What is the deal with this place? 2/5/2006

Ditto the last review: have never had anyone ask me if I needed help, and when I do go to the check-out counter, I usually have to wait a minute or two before workers either notice me or end their conversation to help me. I work very near there, otherwise I would never go back. And today, yet another example of the total oddness of this place: I had gone back to purchase something that I had noticed last week. On Thursday, the red sticker on discounted items meant 75% off. Today, it somehow only meant 25%. Pros: Good selection, Convenient Cons: Horrible service, Horrible service, Horrible service more

Horrible Customer Service 11/18/2005

I visited Guiry's twice to look for art supplies. The first time, I waited over five minutes the young lady behind the counter to look up at me and ask if I needed help. I was looking for special type of paint. She barely looked at me and while she walked away from me she said that they were out. She walked off without even trying to see if the other stores carried the product. I was a bit miffed and I left. Stupidly, I went back to buy pre-primed canvas by the yard. The same young lady was working and she never even said hello - I was the only customer in the store. I asked about the canvas - she said they ran out...She walked off before I had the chance to ask when or if they would carry the canvas. I will never go back. Pros: Not sure, Not sure, Not sure Cons: No service, Limited products, staff not friendly more
