I've been getting my hair cut by Dorothy at Grow for about 2 years now, and the cut that she gives me is the only one I've ever had that I actually LOVE. Not too long ago, she suggested a new style for my hair that she had learned at a Bumble & Bumble class in NYC..and wow! what a great style! She actually takes into consideration the texture of my hair, and her style is the only one that I've been able to easily reproduce on my own at home. I love going to Grow, and I get excited about every single visit! The salon is really cool, the stylists are always on time for the appointment, and I have never once been pressured to buy the hair products. I have, on occasion, expressed an interest in products used on my hair, and have purchased a couple of the products, and I have been extremely pleased with my purchases! \r \r Grow is just plain great! I have been to other, more expensive salons in Atlanta and have been consistently disappointed by the uptight atmosphere and subpar hair cuts. I have been going to a prominent Atlanta hair salon for many, many years only to be continuously disappointed by recent high turnover and a continued rushed atmosphere. Not at Grow. I have been pleasantly surprised by the relaxing environment, pleasant greeters, great product (I love bumble!) and most importantly consistent haircuts! My hair looks fabulous weeks and even months after getting a cut. I have been going to either of the owners. Both are excellent stylists. If you are looking for a salon give Grow a try. I hesitantly did and was highly pleased. I hope to be a customer with them for many years to come. Oh and did I mention that the cuts are very reasonable? So happy I found them. more

She's been cutting my hair for years and I couldn't imagine going elsewhere. The salon is really cool too and they have great drinks (alcoholic and non) that they offer you when you walk in. when i choose to go to a salon, i really like to take a look at the salon's website. i feel like i can get a good vibe for the salon, its mission, a hair gallery, info about the stylists/and colorists, and most importantly pricing information! the website hasn't been updated since 2005 and it's 2007 now. the salon was soo great, and i loved everything, but i hope their website will ""grow"" and be just as great because everyone should know about this salon and the awesome hair they ""do."" I got lucky with grow because I called right as a cancellation was happening for Cregg. Then, I got even luckier because I found the most amazing salon! From going to the same stylist for 20 years, moving to atlanta that was one of the things I was nervous about! But, I have found the perfect stylist. When you first arrive, Rand gives you a drink of your choice to make you feel comfortable. Then, Cregg gave me a consultation and actually listened to what I wanted and what I did and did not like about my hair. Then, he gave me the most wonderful cut. The best part for me though was that 1) he showed me exactly how to style it so I achieved the same look before work and 2) he did not push the products on me like most salons. Then, my haircut was super cheap! All around the best deal for the best cut and atomosphere! I will go here from here on out-no more shopping around! :) Pros: price, parking, cut Cons: nada more

I was looking for a new hair salon, and found Grow here on citysearch. The salon had recieved great reviews, so I decided to give it a shot. I also liked that they have affordable prices. So, I got an appointment with Cregg. Wow, was happy that I did. He was very professional. He was also talkative, which I enjoyed very much. Most stylists act like they just care about getting you out of their chair, not Cregg. Unlike so many other stylists that i've been to, Cregg cared about what I wanted my hair to look like. He knew what I wanted (without me having to show him a pitcure), and didn't finish until I was happy. He is also very thorough, and I really liked that about him. The haircut I got looks totally awesome. He took me from drab to fab. Also, the receptionist Rand is a total sweetie. If you are looking for a trendy salon, stylists who know what they are doing, and afforable prices, Grow is the salon for you. Pros: Proffessionalism, Expertise, Prices Cons: Not a one!!! more

I finally gave up on Van Michael in the Highlands after 9 years. They were great once, but they've gotten sloppy. I don't know about you, but when I get my hair done, I like the cut to be even and the blonde highlights to cover my dark roots! Hello!? What am I crazy? Why do I keep paying for this? So, based on Citysearch reviews, I tried Grow. I wasn't disappointed! The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed yet they are appropriately professional. This is an impressive balance to strike. So, Amy did my color. Fabulous. No roots. That girl can rock some bleach, yo. She's also fun to talk to and sensitive. She won't ""politely"" suggest that your eyebrows are out of control and that you desperately need a wax ""NOW""! (Yes, this actually happened to me at an expensive salon that shall remain nameless Carter Barnes). Cregg cut my hair. Genius. He took my thinning, Homer Simpson strands and transformed them into a glorious, full mane. He's like the Wizard of BlowDrying. Somebody should get him one of those pointy purple hats with some sparkly stars on it. That round brush is a magic wand, I swear. Grow also features Bumble & Bumble products which I'd never tried, but they worked better than Aveda products on my fine hair. (Look Ma! No grease!) Everytime I leave Grow I look amazing thanks to my team of experts: Bradley Seale and Bumble and Bumble shampoo. If you are looking for absolute perfection in hair color (no bleeders) call and ask for Bradley. Not only is he genius with his color, his cuts are equally stunning. What makes him such a talented stylist is his versatility, ranging from bold punk rock to Manhattan sophisticate. Cool, Funky, and Friendly is just the beginning! I once called in with a ""911 Hair Alert"" and Rick Burleson (owner and master stylist!) had me come in that night and he stayed past close to fix me up! As someone who didn't want to break up with my stylist of 7 years, but had to, this was a tough transition for me and bound to be a nightmare I thought. But, thanks to the great staff at 'grow', I'll never look back! Amy Jones is out of this world (colorist) and spent a great deal of time discussing my current color, options I was interested in and ideas she had that would also work. I've been to them all - Carter Barnes, Finn Barra, Van Michael, etc. but couldn't find someone that would listen to me about what I wanted for my hair. When I met Rick Burleson I knew I had found my stylist. He is AMAZING with hair and has a great chairside manner. I just went to Grow salon for the first time last week upon the recommendation from a friend at work. I am so glad I went because I received great highlights/color tint from Amy. Everyone at the salon was personable and helpful. The building itself is so unique and comfortable. Sometimes salons are not the most comfortable place for men. Grow is the exception to that rule. We recently retired to the mountains of North Carolina. Every six weeks i still drive down to atlanta to have my cut and color done with Heather at grow. I have been going to Grow for the past three months and I truly enjoy every visit.
