Following church one Sunday morning, my mother and I decided to head to The Grill for lunch. I was visiting town at the time and wanted to eat at as many local places as I could before leaving again. The two of us, along with my 7 month old son, had about a 20-25 minute wait in a very crowded area. Waiting is fine by me, as long as I'm waiting for something good! A table finally opened for us and we were seated in the teeny tiny two person booth, along with a baby and highchair. The highchair was not quite tall enough to reach the table, so they remedied this by stacking two on top of each other (safe???). Our waiter was a bit of an idiot, and took his sweet time serving us in any way. Waiters and waitresses constantly tripped on the highchair as they passed us, and shot us dirty looks. I ordered the creole grouper with crawfish rice. What I was not told on the menu is that the crawfish rice also contains sausage. As a non-pork eating consumer, I was very disappointed when my meal arrived and I saw thick pieces of sausage everywhere. Eww! The meal was okay. Nothing at all spectacular, and for what we ate, the $40 price tag was outrageous. I may eat at The Grill again in the future, but I need some time to remember how much it stank on this occasion, before I go back again.
