Good idea but way too expensive 5/14/2008

This store fills a need in Chattanooga for hormone free foods and healthy choices, not necessarily available in other stores. I was excited to go there, but after seeing the prices, I was insulted. They are way too expensive. Maybe they think they can charge whatever because they have a sort of monopoly here, but many of the prices were 2 and 3 times what I was used to paying in California for the same products. The high prices are going to ostracize people that would frequent the store often if they had reasonable prices. more

You can find things here that aren't in stock elsewhere 11/11/2005

Greenlife grocery is a nice store to browse through. Fresh vegetables lines the walls and all are very high quality. You can also find odd items that you would have trouble finding in a regular supermarket. Want powdered soy milk? Not a problem. A large variety of tofu? Yep. My only quibble are the prices, which are a lot higher than average. more

Health Food 8/18/2005

Are you a vegetarian or just looking to eat a little healthier? Go to Greenlife Grocery for all your cooking needs. They have fresh and organic foods. The selection of meats and vegetables is very good. They have soy products, tofu, and many other items to choose from. This is one of the few places you can find hormone-free chicken and beef. I recommend checking this one out. more

Small, Clean Heathy food store 8/18/2005

They have a great deli full of vegetarian dishes. They do carry a lot of the health foods, along with vitamins and a great amount of herbs and spices. I usually go there for the spices. When a recipe calls for just a smidge of something and you don't want to pay 7.00 for a bottle of it you can measure how much you need and they calculate by weight. I never have really shopped there, there prices are higher than the average BI-Lo but it is still a great store. more

Good selection of International and Health Foods 7/22/2005

Greenlife is not a huge store, but they have a good selection of health foods, bulk items, international foods, beer, meat, dietary supplements, ready made foods and other things. No one section is huge, but they have a good variety. Salads from their deli are pricey, but very good. You know, when you buy food here, that it will be good for you. My only wish is that they had more groceries and that I didn't spend a fortune every time I go in! more
