While the public areas are well decorated and well maintained, this facility falls short of expectations in less visible areas. The cost, already outrageous, has gone up and the services have declined. The food in particular is horrible...few choices, poor preparation, poor palatability, and incredibly skimpy portions. Their "Christmas Dinner" Dec. 11 was poorly planned/executed (it took over an hour for residents and guests to be served), and I saw the staff refuse to give one guest who was unable to eat the other items on the menu 3 MEASLEY ASPARAGUS SPEARS...when the guest requested more, they refused. The guest told them that if they couldn't do better than that, they obviously needed the 3 asparagus spears more than she did, and left. Kudos for taking a stand! Even there the portions were skimpy...pie slices were a mere inch to inch and a half wide. Of course the meal was served vs. help yourself ...residents and guests would have taken too large a portions that way. With what residents pay to live there, the place is light on included services...spend your money elsewhere.. You will get more bang for your buck than at Greenbrier Cove.
