Best

Outstanding shop. I have been a customer of Green Mountain for about 10 years. I have always been treated well. The prices are the best in the area, the staff is very helpful and ...

Took a weapon in to put on consignment and was advised it was a "collectors item" and only worth $70-$80. They would be "happy to sell it" for me..... I kept the weapon and went...

Huge Selection Terrible Service 5/27/2010

I was trying to locate a specific type of shotgun. The salesman on the phone was very helpful and encouraged me to come down to the store. I went down to the store the next day. I stood at the counter for almost a solid 10 minutes without even a nod from anyone behind the counter. There was only one other customer at the counter in front of the pistols. The customer must have either been a celebrity or their best buddy because there were 2 salesman practically bending over to take it up the a** for this guy. When I did finally get the attention of the salesman I was given a one word answer to my question "no" and then he was right back to the other customer. I was not given any explanation as to why the salesman on the phone said they did carry a certain shotgun and I was not given enough time to find out if the store might carry something comparable. I had over $700 cash in my pocket but since I don't pack fudge I was unable to get their attention. Pros: Big selection of firearms to choose from Cons: Have to talk to the snobs behind the counter more

Probably the top gun shop in Denver 4/11/2010

The good folks at Green Mountain Guns truly make buying a handgun a pleasure. They spent about two hours with me surverying and handling a wide array of 45 cal handguns. I walked into the shop expecting to buy a Glock, and after testing new the Springfield XD-m, S&W, Glock, and Ruger handguns, I walked out of the shop with a used HK USP 45 cal. The HK just offered several distinguishing features that made the handgun more versatile for me, i.e., cocked and locked safety mode with decocking feature. Many thanks guys, I'll be back! Pros: Very knowledgeable staff and very patient with buyers. Cons: Only negative would be drive distance from my house more

Friendly cust. Svc, but No Military or any Discounts 3/8/2010

Great customer service, good selection of fire arms, and good prices - not Great, but good. I purchased a Springfield ,40 sub-compact and a 380 Kel-Tec. The prices are very good, but I would have thought a military or multi purchase discount would have been in order. Maybe the owner will reconsider to be more military friendly after reading this review, but then again I am only one and his business is booming. In any case, I will continue to give them my business. more

Not that great 2/4/2010

I love a gun store that does not have an on-site smith -- not really. I love a gun store that acts as if Kimber is the best 1911 ever made -- it is not. I love how they blue book your gun, and then offer a pawn shop price. I love how they told me my limited Para was basically crap, and my Luke Volkmann Custom was not that impressive -- please. These guys are snobs to the core; however, they are the wrong type of snob -- moronic and only dedicated to the products that they sell. Oh well, I will go to the Gun Room were there are actual people that know what the hell they are talking about, and they have one of the best smiths in the country working there, and he will not charge you for minor tweaks and fixes. Pros: Not Many Cons: A Lot more

I'm a long time customer 12/31/2009

I enjoy stopping in and looking at their stock and I have purchused many over the last decade. Decent consignments, reasonable on new guns and there are some employees who know what they are selling, professional and very helpful, hopefully the few who are not, will learn something from these who rock, as they who don't pass me over repeatedly actually sell me some great fire arms. Also a great place to transfer guns. My favorite place to go! Pros: reasonable prices, wide variety of new and used fire arms Cons: employees are great but there are a few who are lacking more

great customer service except the snob that rung me up today 8/24/2009

gun snobs are gun snobs and they are every where... The person i talked to on the phone was very helpful but the guy i talked to in person could care less. i guess i just need to become a more familiar face. Pros: great selection, ammo in stock Cons: a person who acted like a $60 ammo purchase was nothing more

Nice selection of New and Used 5/24/2009

Most of the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, but like most gun shops, there are a couple of gun snobs in the mix. Their selection of used and consignment guns is good, and their consignment terms are reasonable for those who sell. Reloading supplies are competitively priced and their inventory is good for most of the popular calibers. Their prices are competitive, but higher than the big box stores. Pros: Good selection of firearms and reloading supplies Cons: Prices are a little high, some staff members a bit snobby more

The only place I shop 3/6/2009

Without a doubt my favorite gun store in Colorado. Friendly, highly knowledgable staff. I have purchased several fire arms, new and used over the past 12 years. I work in law enforcement as do many of the customers there. If you want to know where to shop for guns go where Law Enforcement shop. The staff/store has a family run feel...a real sense of honesty. I've never seen a hint of over pricing. The cleanest used and consignment selection in town. Pros: The most honest gun store in town Cons: none more

Best Gun Shop in Denver - maybe in the State 1/31/2009

I have been frequenting this shop for years. They have an excellent and knowledgable staff and will take the time you need to answer all of your questions and show you all the firearms you want to handle. This shop has a well deserved reputation for being tops in sales of used and consignment guns. Turnover is high, so if you don't find the used gun you are after, check back in a week or two. They also do not charge as much as other shop in consignment fees. Good place to sell your used firearms. Prices on new guns are low compared to other shops in town, even the three big stores the majority of the time. Keep up the great work gents! Pros: Excellent selection, knowledgable staff, consignment sales are tops in the area Cons: none more

Amazing Service!! 1/8/2009

I bought a Springfield XD there in December. I had to put it on layaway, but wow. They really let me take my time and literally look at, hold feel touch every pistol in the store. I was there for about 2-3 hours. Really friendly, unpressured and did a great job! I finally got my gun home and had a small hiccup with the finish. I took it back there, after calling them, and they brought out about 5 others in my model and it turns out it is just a finish problem on the series it self. The owner (I think) offered to ship the gun back to springfield and have it refurbished on HIS dime, but I declined. Its not his fault they were like that and after the amazing service I receivedI didn't want to cost him anything. He instead practically insisted that I take 100 rds of .45 for the trouble. Would I recommend? Absolutely! They have given the best Customer service I have received to date from a gun store. Period. Pros: Great Customer Service Cons: Holidays remember...Few accessories... more

best gun shop in Colorado... 10/13/2008

after driving around to two other "gun shops" in the wheat ridge area, I was referred to Green Mountain Guns by the guys at Tom and Joe's. I was on the hunt for a GLOCK 23 and nobody in CO seems to carry them. But I was told that Green Mountain Guns always had several GLOCK's in stock. It was well worth the extra drive! The people who work there are VERY friendly and knowledgeable. They have a GREAT selection of new firearms and a very impressive selection of used/consignment guns as well. And the prices really can't be beat on a lot of their inventory. Pros: very friendly staff, great selection on either new OR used firearms, competetive prices Cons: absolutely nothing...this store and the people who work here are amazing more

Outstanding Customer Service 6/15/2008

I have been to Green Mountain Gun over the years and always found them to be very knowledgeable and friendly. I stopped by just yesterday to pick out my Father's Day present. Although I didn't find what I was wanting, one of the guys stopped us and gave my 9 year old daughter a Beretta cap. It made her day, and again reminded me why this shop is so awesome! The people there are second to none, and the prices are still great (I just wish I had more extra cash)! more

The Best Gun Shop in Colorado 12/30/2007

The is the place if you want a new gun, I have bought several over the years and continue to do so. This is a family run store, not part of Corporate chain. this is how they make a living and they don't overprice there items so you will come back. I you have a idea want you want, this is the store for you! I have travel over hundred miles because of excellent service and they will find what you want and if will cost a little more they will tell you. Thank you for reading. more

Great Place.. 7/28/2007

This is a great place to do business. I highly recommend stopping by and getting to know the shop. They take care of your needs better than any web page could attempt to. In fact you should use a web page to decide what your needs are and then stop by this shop for the real thing. The selection is outstanding and I was pleasantly surprised the first time I walked into the store to find how wide a variety of products new and used are available. Disregard the review that criticizes this store and it isn't even in the ball park for the service and selection. They're in the gun business not the online web order market. Be thankful too it probably keeps their costs down.. Definitely A+++ place... Pros: service and selection Cons: new location needs more advertising. recently moved more

Great gun store. 7/17/2007

Great gun store. Small, but jam-packed with guns and ammo and accessories. Prices I saw were best I've seen on selected items. I got a black powder rifle for about $200 less than chain stores. I will drive 60+ miles just for this store. Very busy in afternoons. more

Awesome place 12/4/2006

Green mountain guns is the best gunshop I have been to in the denver area. I wanted a new shotgun and called them up, they special ordered it for me, all I had to do was give them my credit card number and they called me to pick it up in 4 days. The price was cheaper than anything I found on the net. I had never been there before and was I suprised. Not only do they have a good selection of new firearms but an extensive selection of used firearms, you can even sell there on consignment. The staff was excellent and went out of there way to help me. I highly recommend this place. It looks like a little hole in the wall but looks are decieving more

Good place 10/16/2006

That previous review was so awful I almost didn't justify a rebuttal. But it is important to note that Green Mountain Guns although it's true they don't have a website is a very helpful place to look for guns/ammo and other sports/gun related items. The staff is friendly and helpful. They also have a great selection of used firearms at reasonable prices. The only gun I ever bought was from GMG, I would recommend stopping by and getting your own opinion. Pros: Friendly staff, nice used selection Cons: Smallish store size more
