Grand Prairie Urgent Care & Family Medicine

My son was hurt in P.E and had to have stitches. From the moment I walked in, everyone was very friendly. What I particularly noticed was that the receptionist called the nurse over to look at the cut to see if she thought it needed stitches before they got any information from me. That was nice because if he ended up not needing anything, I wouldn't have been out any money and my little boy wouldn't have been in any additional pain. Dr. Beene was so nice and warm. I felt she was really concerned with my son and was very comforting to him. The entire process took less than an hour. I am so glad I didn't go to the nasty ER. I will definitely not hesitate to go back for minor issues or illnesses. This is a great alternative to having to make and appt with my primary doctor, drive across town and wait for 2 hrs for her to see me for 5 min. more

I have read several of the reviews. Dr. Beene (the main doctor there) has been my primary care doctor for many years. I have always found her thorough and willing to help. Also should I need a specialist, she sends me on to them. Some here have complained of the wait. I have been to other urgent care centers. They all require a lengthy wait period. A better way to assure getting in faster is to call ahead to see when they will have less patients. Some have complained about the owner. I have not met him. The alternate doctor that has practiced there has always been courteous. The only drawback that I have found is that they only want to deal with one medical coverage instead of more than one. My mentally challenged daughter is covered by both Medicaid and by my medical insurance. I find it easier to go ahead and pay the co-pay rather than deal with filing with Medicaid myself. more

I stronly recomment that if you are thinking of going to this establishment that you think again.. From the minute I walked in to the clinic I was treated like I was inconveniencing the staff... The front desk girls looked at me like oh great another patient, and when taken back to a room the lady taking my vitals was not much better... I will not return to that clinic ever again.. I would rather sit in a ER then deal with those people.. Its no wonder there was only one other patient in the whole place.. more

My son came down with a fever in the early evening, so I had to find a doctors office open after hours. Grand Prairie Urgent Care was right around the corner and we came in at 7:30pm. The staff got us in and out within 45 minutes. Clean facility and a very personable and professional staff. Pros: Clean and Organized Family Practice more

I read the preceding two reviews and can only conclude they must have caught the staff on a bad day. I?ve been to this clinic on a number of occasions because it?s close to my house. The service and care I?ve received has always been first rate and the wait was never out of line for the large number of people in the waiting. I?d recommend this clinic to anyone. more

I would avoid this place at all cost. From the moment I walked in, I knew I had made a mistake. The front desk person only had 8 words to say to me..Do you have insurance? Fill out these forms! I waited for 3 hours to be seen and treated. The doctor spent about 5 minutes with me, ordered lab work and xrays. The (nurse) forgot to tell me I needed to go and have xrays. After I was seen, I was told by the (nurse) that "it would be 123.00, no discussion of a diagnosis, treatment, nothing! The lab work would take 3 days, and I was given pain medicine for two. \r Poor medical treatment and customer service. more

Avoid this place. Not a first come , first serve as advertised. Its a disorganized private practice. Inexperienced staff, should be better at scheduling. Expect to wait 1.5 hours, complain,and then wait another hour. Second visit was my last. more
