  • Location
One of the highest ski resorts in Utah, a 450-inch average annual snowfall and snowcat skiing--must be one of the resorts near Salt Lake, right? No--it's Brian Head, in the Southern Utah desert, near Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks and Cedar Breaks National Monument.

    The Scene
The 9,600-foot base elevation assures that the 53 trails on two mountains get covered with lots of the fluffy stuff. Those seeking freshies can ride a snowcat to the top of Brian Head Peak and access double-black-diamond terrain. The area also offers terrain parks for boarders and skiers, a Nordic center and a new tubing park. Night skiing is available weekends and holidays off Chair No. 6.
