Be VERY AWARE - On 5/14/12 I consulted Dr. Graham Miller because he had taken care of my dog 3 years previously. The dog had been vomiting for four days straight and was dehydrated and very sick. I told Dr. Miller that I had very little cash and what could be done. He said, ?We?ll keep him over for two nights to figure out what was wrong with him and give him fluids and meds. I?ll do one x-ray and charge you for one consultation and we?ll see how he is on 5/16.? That will cost you $1000 and I paid him $500 up front. At 9am on 5/16, when I called Dr. Miller for another update, he said ?He?s eating and he pooped, so you can come pick him up after 2pm, he keeps pulling out his lines anyway.? When I went to pick him up after 2pm the tech gave me the bill which had a 3rd day charge because I picked him up after 2pm. There were 2 x-ray charges, even though they had received the x-ray from Dr. Rojas which was done on 5/11/12 and showed no problem. I asked the tech if he had pooped and she said she didn?t know because there were so many techs taking care of the dog ? which I was charged $210 night for ?ICU? care. She looked on the chart and told me ?no he has not pooped? and sent me home with 6 cans of ?special dog food? that they had been feeding him. When I got him home I fed him a little dog food and within an hour he was vomiting the same as he was when I took him in. In fact he was just as bad as the day I took him to Dr. Miller. When I called the office Dr. Miller called me back and said, ?you know we should just schedule him for surgery tomorrow and cut him open, that?s what we used to do in the old days instead of all these tests?. Up to that point Dr. Miller hadn?t done any tests, charged me 50% more than was agreed upon and my dog was still just as sick and there was NO diagnosis. Total $1,219.00 worth of charges and my dog was still as sick as the day I took him in. more

Be very aware--Disappointed 2/9/2012

About 15 years ago I heard good things about Dr Miller but now I am greatly disappointed. When my kitty was having trouble peeing, my own vet's office was closed until noon, so I rushed him to Dr Miller. I had given this cat fluids trying to get a urine sample prior but I was unsuccessful. Dr Miller told me my kitty's bladder was blocked and needed decompression asking for about 900 bucks. A little pricey... When I told Dr Miller this , he just walked out of the room never to return. There was no initial greeting, no eye contact of acknowledgment, and looked at my dog as if she were the patient. So I called my vet's office and was told by a vet ( who doesn't know me) to go through with the procedure no matter the price. This was an emergency to decompress the bladder. more

I LOVE this MAN~! 10/28/2011

I will never have one bad thing to say about this man~! He is very sweet and always kind. His love for animals is apparent in the way he does his best to save their little life and make them as comfortable as possible. His prices are extremely reasonable, and a little low if you ask me. He had to put our kitty down recently and didn't even charge us for the euthanasia.. just the oxygen treatments and office visit. The office visit price is almost half of what you would pay just down the street across Swan at the 24 hour place (which is a major rip off btw). Take your kittyz to a man with a big heart and a gentle human paw. Thank you Dr. Miller. more

Worst Place to work for 7/15/2011

I worked for Dr Miller and here are the Pros and Cons. I will not give my name nor will i hint at it. At first, Dr Miller was great then he seemed to turn into it for the money as the economy got worse. Clients who had been there for years all of a sudden were no longer to do payment plans unless they were his ""pets,"" good buddies or they kissed his...., you know. Everything was completely unorganized there. Cathy was the worst one to work for, a horrible office manager. Dr Miller was an amazing educator and i learned so much but because I had Cathy as my superior, the job was ruined. I had medical issues with Dr's notes and was told if i didn't work i would loose my job. Dr Miller does care about the animals but slightly may be loosing interest, tiring out. His strategy is helping the animals the most affordable way possible for owners yet able to get what he needs done. Now think about it, he's been working 6 days a week for probably 30 years now as a vet, surgeries 4 days a week, wouldnt you be tired and start to loose interest too? more

A Handsome, WONDERFUL veterinarian! 8/5/2009

Dr. Miller is well known for his charitable acts towards animals; helping the ones that really have no other help available. Aside from that, he has worked with his substantial client base long enough to recognize all of the different possible medical conditions. He is a friendly man, with all of his ducks in a row. Personally, my neighbors and I all love him. We plan to return every year for our yearly wellness exams, heartworm checks, and all that he deems necessary. The entire staff is always friendly and nice, and we always leave feeling well taken care of. Pros: Very experienced and open-minded veterinarian Cons: Can no longer do payment more

Great Vet and Awesome Staff 4/29/2009

I have known Dr. Miller for about 6 years. He has cared for my pets as well as my mother's dog. About a year ago one of my pets was picked up by animal control and even though all shots and immunizations were current he had to spend 10 days in quarantine. Dr. Millers office agreed to keep him so he would not have to remain at Animal control. After my cat had been there for about 3 days he questioned why they (animal control) would have deemed him such a bad cat. He then commented on his good behavior. My cat was happy there even though he was not in his home. I visited him every day. His kennel was immaculate and litter box clean. I even brought in a special diet. He was clearly given the best care during his 10 day stay. I will certainly recommend Dr. Miller to all of my friends and family. Pros: Friendly staff, clean facility Cons: Hard to spot from road more

A good office and a good vet 1/21/2009

I've been going to Dr. Miller for approximately twelve years. My families cats and dogs have all been cared for through Miller Pet and we have had many! Though I see negative reviews on bedside manner and sending people away with ""only pills"" I must say I will return. Dr. Miller is not an overly enthusiastic man, but I believe he is experienced and puts together a great team to run his business. My families' animals have never been the healthiest and we are by admission not the most careful pet parents but Dr. Miller did not overtly judge or purposefully mistreat one of my animals. A man must see many terrible things in the vet's office so I can forgive a somber attitude if it is replaced by experience and good direction. My good treatment by Dr. Miller and his staff has never gone unnoticed and being able to pay in payments has been one of the greatest blessings to my family. I cannot reiterate enough how helpful and accommodating Miller Pet Hospital has been to my family. If you need good care for your pets (and you) I would definitely recommend trying Dr. Miller. Thank you Dr. Miller and staff for being there for my pet and human family for years! Pros: Staff are friendly and accomadating; Dr. is experiened, Office takes payments Cons: You just can't see the building sign soon enough if you're coming for the first time! more

A Vet who care NOT about your pet ! 8/6/2008

I brought my dog there who had a reoccuring ear infection, i was treated great by the staff but when Dr Miller came in he quickly looked at my dog's ear( just one) and stated "" oh i hate to see that"" he left the room. He didnt take any swabs of the drainage from her ears and didnt even check my dog out at all. Then sent his staff in with ear wash and 2 tubes of medicine to be put in her ears with no directions other then to put the medicine in her ears. Well we went home and her ears started to get better but as soon as the medicine was finished her ears started getting infected again! I called the office and was told that i needed to bring her back in so Dr Miller could look at them again.. i did not return to Dr Miller..I felt like he didnt care about me or my dog and thats no vet i want my dog seeing. Pros: Staff friendly Cons: Very uncaring Dr. more

Best Pet Hospital in the U. S. A. 5/20/2008

""Hello Doctor Miller, Cathy, and tge entire staff at Miller Pet Hospital"", more

Well, at least the staff is nice... 9/5/2007

Unfortunately I had a rather negative experience with Miller Pet Hospital. Our dog was very sick, and we weren't too sure what was going on with him. We were sent home from the first visit with some pills, and told that this should help clear things up if it was what he thought the problem was. Our dog reacted very well to the medicine, and all was fine. Well, fine until our dog could not keep any food down a few weeks later. Again, our dog was sent home with some meds. But, a few days later, he was unable to walk anymore. To make a long, painful story short, after multiple trips to the vet and constantly being treated like we were over reacting to something that we felt was a serious problem, our dog died a very painful death. At no time were we advised that what he had was very serious, or that we might want to condsider having him put down. Dr. Miller kept mentioning that the tests that needed to be ran was not in our budget (not that he knew what my budget was), and wouldn't give me exact answers when I asked what needed to be done. He just kept sending us home. I'm not sure if I was spoiled by my previous vet back in my hometown, but I have learned the painful lesson to trust my gut more, and get a second opinion if necessary. I will also like to add that whenever we called like we were asked to update, the Doctor always had to call us back, and it was never the same day. Pros: Very nice staff. Cons: The vet himself. more

Great vet and great staff! 8/2/2007

Dr. Graham Miller is WONDERFUL. He loves his patients (pet ones) and their owners. The staff is friendly and Dr Miller was more thorough than any other vet I have seen in town. He was wonderful and he remembers me and my family even when I see him at places outside of the office. The person who wrote the bad review must have been overly sensitive the day she went there. I would recommend Dr Miller to anyone. Pros: Very Personable Doctor and Staff more

good vet 5/23/2007

I don't know what happened to the individual who wrote the negative review of Dr. Miller. Maybe he or she is overly sensitive. Maybe Dr. Miller was extremely busy that day. Pros: kind understanding more

Excellent care, I couldn't ask for better!! 10/22/2006

I am not one who usually writes reviews but once I read the previous review I could not hold back. I have taken my pets to Dr. Miller for the last 12 years and have absolutely no complaints. I recently moved from Tucson and I am woried I will not be able to find as caring and understanding a vet as Dr. Miller. I have what you may call a ""difficult dog"". He does NOT like getting shots. Shot time is usually very tramatic for both my dog and myself, however Dr. Miller really worked with us and was so incredibly understanding. I believe Dr. Miller has a real passion for animals and it shows in his vast knowledge of the animals (all the animals) he cares for. For any question I have about new diseases, treatments, or shots he always has a thorough response. He never EVER recommends treatments you don't need like many other vets I've tried in Tucson have done. At other vets I felt like they were trying to sell me every possible shot or treatment under the sun. Dr. Miller is extremely knowledgeable and knows what you do and do not need. I have never felt like he was trying to sell me something I did not need and on several occasions he has advised me not to get something I was thinking was neccessary. On top of all this, when I had a sick cat that needed xrays and I was worried I did not have the money to pay, he told me not to worry about it, that we would work out a payment plan. I would trust the opinion of someone who went to this vet for 12 years rather than a person who had one unpleasant visit. Pros: caring and knowledgeable more

Not for my pets... 9/2/2006

Being new in Tucson, I took this vet as a recommendation from a neighbor. The staff were caring, but this doctor could not have cared less. No bedside manner whatsoever and even seemed to dislike my pets. I got the distinct impression he was not happy in his profession and was only doing it for the money. Beware, there are much better vets in Tucson. Try Dr. Jody Miller at Valley Animal Hospital and you will not be dissapointed. Pros: Office staff seemed caring. Cons: Dr. Miller seems to be in it for the money--not for the love of animals. more
