Our family member was placed here at the Glennwood Avenue location and we pulled them out as fast as we could. \r
The favorite phrase, when you ask for help is:\r
"" It's not my patient "" \r
This is particularly the case in the evenings when supervision is down and they want to sit around and talk without being disturbed. \r
Security is lax. Individuals walked in and out of the facility without signing in. \r
Facility is run down and needs renovation. The staff will do bare minimum to make your loved one comfortable. It is obvious that many of the staff do not get along and are unhappy with their career choice. This carries over to the patient care. There was poor to no eye contact by staff members. Only a few would offer a friendly greeting or show concern.\r
No TVs or telephones in the rooms, so plan to provide this if you make the poor choice of placing someone there.\r
There are other Golden Living Facilites that are managed much much better, but this is not one of them. Visit before you decide, and call the Atlanta Long Term Care Ombudsman to see if this place is trying to improve.
Cons: Apathetic staff and unpleasant atmosphere
