So embarrassed that I took family here! 11/19/2012

I am so disappointed with this establishment. I would have expected so much better from a small, family run restaurant. We have eaten here before, and always enjoyed the food and the service. Tonight, my mother in law was in town, and we took her and my mother for dinner. We had a terrible issue with the service! The server made an error, which is not a big deal, but the manager handled the situation horribly! They absolutely refused to do anything, even apologize, and just said the server must not have known, so there was nothing she could do, but she could call the owner to ask them what she could do. She was rude, and I was so embarrassed that my husband and I took our mothers here! When someone at our table mentioned that we were unlikely to come back, the manager actually shrugged. She never even came back to the table after saying she would contact the owner, but sent the poor server back to the table to tell us the owner was actually "out of the area" so they couldn't do anythin more

Cute Location, Terrible Food 7/13/2011

I wanted to like this place, but I went there for lunch today and I have to say . . . it was terrible. The bread, olive oil and vinegar were purchased at a grocery store - not even homemade! The bruschetta had ingredients not listed on the menu (olives and capers) which would have stopped me from ordering the dish (if I'd known)! For an entree, my sister and I split the ravioli special which was supposed to be ""in a light cream sauce"" but was basically floating in a dish of butter. It was really awful. And they charged us for a split plate even though we ordered and shared two dishes. I honestly could have made better Italian food at home. Wait staff was not friendly or helpful. The place itself was cute and I wanted to like it, but it just was not good at all. Wouldn't ever go back. =( more

Great Food For The Price & Great Drinks!!! 12/12/2010

I too have traveled the world and let me tell you. I have Been to Italy & France and i would say there food is just as good if not better. we had meals in italy well over $150.00 WITH wine. My wife and I have been eating here for a year now and have tried everything on the menu and yet to be dissapointed ! more

wannabe Italian food 4/24/2010

knowing first hand what takes place in the kitchen it's not worth the price. The pasta and ingredients are far from fresh and the MICROWAVE is the chef's best friend. Having traveled to and eaten in France and Italy this place is an abomination. Cons: everything more

Girardi's Osteria is authentic Italian food 8/4/2009

Great food. Louise is a fantastic chef. One of the best appetizers is the calamari. Cannot beat this for $3. They also have a very good selection of wines. Mostly from France and Spain. more

Comfortable, romantic Italian 6/20/2009

We stopped at Girardi's just as we were heading out of Edmonds after the artfair. We'd circled around, looking at other places to eat, but nothing in the area seemed all that appealing. We're so glad Girardi's caught our eye, and we made the stop! Pros: Delicious food, attentive and efficient service more

Perfect romantic evening 1/14/2009

What a beautiful little spot! more

Delicious Caesar Salad! 12/23/2008

The food is okay, I've heard the wine is nice. It's a bit pricey, but it's still a classy place downtown Edmonds to dine out. My favorite is the Caesar salad with comes on one large romaine leaf. Their dressing is very, very good. The service is quick and sometimes there's even live music. Not a bad deal for downtown Edmonds. more

great drinks 11/18/2008

I've had awesome meals here, but whenever I take company, it's not as good. I think they have one good chef, and one so so chef. I still want to go, because when it's good, it's excellent. It was hard to give it 4 or 6 stars though. more

Our local favorite! 11/2/2008

We've been to Girardi's over a dozen times. We love how we can have a great meal without having to drive into Seattle. Pros: Great food and service more

Great italian food with some style 9/18/2008

We really enjoyed a lunch here. Good place to eat, drink and socialize. The decor is beautiful. The staff is friendly and professional. The food is fresh, delicious and well-prepared. more

Wonderful ambience! 9/15/2008

We chose Girardi's as the place to hold our son's Groom's Dinner and we turned out to be thrilled with our choice. Because we live quite a distance away, we had to do a lot of planning via the telephone and even so, everything turned out perfect. Every course that was served was delicious, the wine was wonderful, and the service excelled any we have ever had. I think our son and his new bride will be coming back often for the special occasions in their lives. And the next time we are in the area, you can be sure we will enjoy a meal their too. We highly recommend Girardi's. Pros: excellent service, accomodated a large group with no problems Cons: we avoided parking by walking over from our hotel more

Girardi's Osteria 6/15/2008

Truly a first class dining establishment. The decor is beautiful, very classy and welcoming. Located in a quiet street, this restaurant is very inviting, the food was some of the best I have ever had. The service was just so accommodating for our very large group. The staff couldn't have been more polite, and we were all served in a timely manner, with hot, wonderful entrees. The Lemon Drop Martini was one of the best I have ever had, a little pricey, but excellent. If you enjoy good Italian food, this is the place for you. It is pricey, but it is also priceless! more

Best romantic date ever!! 3/1/2008

My husband and I went there tonight for our delayed Valentine's dinner. Oh my goodness, my taste buds thought they died and went to heaven!! Put it this way. Our dishes came with carrots and zucchini as the vegetables. I hate cooked carrots and hate zucchini even more. But they were DELICIOUS!! I don't know what they did to them but wow. And of course the rest of the food was to die for. The atmosphere was incredibly romantic, complete with a fireplace in the middle and candles at every table, draperies on the ceiling, and several chandeliers. It did an amazing job of keeping the noise level reasonable, we didn't even realize the place was packed until we saw everyone when we went to leave. Definitely not one of those places you have to concentrate to hear what your date is saying. It is pricey, but not too bad, for both of us with a glass of wine each and an appetizer and chicken and duck it was 81 w/ tip. You definitely get what you pay for though. The service was slightly slow, but once we got the food we didn't care. It's such a romantic place the only slightly slow service just gives you more time to hold hands with your loved one across the table! : ) Definitely a must for anyone looking for a romantic date in the Edmonds area. more

A Must Miss 12/26/2006

Girardi's tries very hard to be taken seriously, but it just fails on every level with its menu. I've eaten many times there before, and I've never been too impressed, but tonight was the last straw. We were seated by a very nice waiter (all the staff are great people), but it took them 10 minutes to take our drink order. When the bread arrived it was stale, yep they served us two-day old bread since yesterday was Christmas and I doubt the restaurant was receiving shipments that day. Pros: Nice staff. Ambience isn't bad. Cons: The food. more

Normally it's great but... 12/1/2006

On my last visit, we went in expecting the normal upscale experience. We can't afford it every night so we were really looking forward to something better than fast food. The hostest and staff were friendly but I couldn't believe she was wearing a zip up sweatshirt with ""Hollister"" pressed across her chest in white letters. Even a black tshirt would've been better and more elegant. more

Fine Dining. Recommend 11/18/2006

Exceptional. Good wine selection. The staff is very accomodating. Northern Italian. Romantic and affordable. Pros: No waiting, easy. more

The best restaurant you've never visited 2/28/2006

Probably one of the best restaurants I've been to in Seattle. Having travelled extensively in Europe, Girardi's can compete with some of the best both in service, graciousness but especially food. The food was prepared beautifully and not masked by overspicing. Pros: Romantic, Great Food Cons: Pricey, Location more

Always a good meal 10/21/2005

My husband and I always choose Girardi's when we have our ""date"" night. We love the atmosphere and the service is pleasant and professional. The food is simply fantastic. There are so many wonderful dishes on the menu and I'm slowly working my way thru each one. The butternut squash ravioli is exquisite. and the gnocchi in pesto cream sauce keeps me up at night wanting more. They have a fantastic wine list and the appetizers are large. There is plenty of on street parking or park in the empty bank lot next door when youre dining after hours.. Pros: Fabulous Food, Great Wines, Parking more
