One of my favorite places in La Jolla is Girards and the reason...their Italian bread baked to perfection! You can just buy a loaf and take it by the Cove to eat while enjoying the view of the beach. But when you add turkey, avocado, and alfalfa sprouts to the bread, you get a wonderful sandwich. Their roast beef sandwich is pretty good too, but the turkey with avocado is way better, in my opinion. Top off the meal with some yummy fresh baked cookies or other desserts, and you've got it made. Just remember to get a loaf of Italian bread to go.
