bakery ignoring customer waiting at counter.....waiting in line at yogart/milk counter for clerk taking inventory..everyone left without buying....men's room filthy...i left...going to walmart to shop!!!! more

Good: The employees are great. Joan, the manager is sweet and wonderful and everyone (except the woman in the meat department) is pleasant and willing to serve the customers as always.. Bad: Basically everything. The bakery no longer bakes their own cakes. They get them from somewhere else and they're always stale. Many products I love are no longer available at this Giant Eagle. Stock is limited, produce is often wilted, and meat isn't that great and the woman who works in the meat department is miserable (the one who has been there for a long time). She has been rude to me and other customers on more than one location. Also, the deli should offer whole wheat bread for their deli rings.. Improvements: Better stock, fresher produce (that doesn't come from Mexico), lower prices, and someone to replace that witch in the meat department. I've asked them what happened to certain products I use and used to buy there and they say the manufacturer discontinued them but when I call the manufacturer they tell me that it was Giant Eagle's decision to discontinue carrying the product. Ex. Delallo EVOO, Sunsweet plum juice, Bumble Bee solid white premium albacore tuna.. Other: I wish Whole Foods would open a store in Murrysville because while Giant Eagle is bad, that other store across from Franklin Regional HS is even worse, although they do carry some of the products GE doesn't.. more

When this store was owned privately, it was well run, the flower shop always had fresh flowers, the price was reasonable. The bakery and deli always had what I needed, the shelves in the store were always well stocked. Although prices were higher than the other stores, it was a nice place to shop. Since the store went corporate things have gone down hill. The flowers are not as fresh and the price has doubled and the selection is less. The bakery does not have the items I want and the deli has omitted things. Today I could not find vanilla pudding---the slelf was bare, but prices seem to be climbing. I hear this complaint from many of my friends and in general, we are all not pleased with the store and are looking for another place to shop. more

Giant Eagle is a pretty good local food store. They have a pharmacy and video store. The prices are ok, but other stores like nearby Festival Foods and Walmart Supercenter are cheaper. Giant Eagle is nice because of convenience, but because the prices aren’t that cheap, its not my first choice for grocery shopping. more
