Best

The whole experience was breathtaking. The desserts were the best in my opinion and I will go back on that simple merit.

Worst

overrated. expensive. there was always too much of something, needs better balance with flavors. nice view...

Great View! 9/27/2011

George's is great and I think all I need to say is "the view". The food is delicious but I enjoy eating at George's mainly for the incredible view. more

Sit on top of the world 3/22/2011

Have been going to George's--both the Oceanview Terrace & the dining room--for about 3 years with my wife and friends.. It's a great place & the fish is always fresh & well-prepared. The Oceanview Terrace is terrific for lunch, but reservations are essential--it's always crowded. It can be a little hectic but the service is good & the food is excellent. Can't beat the view of the La Jolla Cove. That's why we keep coming back! more

Good Food, Strange Pacing, Overrated 10/23/2006

George's was highly rated and we were looking forward to dinner. We got a nice table, although cold air was blowing on us (they eventually turned it off after we asked.) It took 30 minutes before our order was taken. The appetizers came out quickly, although the hamachi dish was awful (two of the three plates were incredibly fishy.) We then waited another 30 minutes for the main course. Everything felt like it dragged and - while the food was good - the overall experience was disappointing. more

George's Ocean Terrace 10/7/2005

It has the less formal setting but still with the delicious foods and beautiful view. George's rooftop restaurant serves lunch and dinner on a wide patio open to the San Diego sunshine. It's a nice place to take your friends and family that arent native to san diego to impress them ^.~! more

Great Food with a Great View 9/15/2005

I absolutely love this place! George's is split into a couple levels: the first floor is for fine dining and reservations are recommended. If you're on a budget, the upper level the place to eat. With it's casual atmosphere, reservations are not necessary and is a great place to have lunch or dinner while enjoying the ocean view and/or sunset. Besides the location of the restaurant, George's serves a variety of dishes from mahi mahi to parmesan chicken. more

George's At The Cove - Ocean Terrace 8/24/2005

This restaurant, well-known by many San Diegans is a must visit if not just for the food, than for the magnificant view of the beach and La Jolla. The Ocean Terrace is the upper part of the restaurant where food is much cheaper than downstair's fine dining. The roasted chicken is absolutely mouth watering. more

This is THE restaurant in La Jolla 8/23/2005

Ah, George’s at the Cove. A real destination fine dining restaurant for special occasions, locals and tourists alike – yet, most entrees are close to (and over) 30 bucks. But you’ll get some amazing food and excellent service. If you are on a budget, consider the Ocean Terrance for patio dining. Lunch time gets you a variety of items like salads, sandwiches (and fish tacos – Yum!) all around 10 bucks, dinner on the patio keeps the prices under 20 per entrée. more

George's has a great view 8/18/2005

This restaurant has great service, great food, and great views of the Pacific Ocean. It overlooks La Jolla Cove, which is one of the more beautiful beaches in California. Their food is pretty expensive and small proportions, but you pretty much go for the atmosphere and view. The wine list is very extensive as well. This is a great place for dates. I guarantee that your date will like it. more
