Jean Juarez is not what it used to be. You used be able to be sure when you went there you would get a good job done. Now they put in armatures and charge a fortune. I went to get my make up done and came out looking like I was in the 60's. and I went to have my hair styled and the stylist didn't even know how to curl hair or style hair. But yet I paid almost $200.00. What a joke! more

Good: My stylist Kia -great hircuts every time- last time I told her my neck was stiff - before she cut my hair- she went to the spa and got a hot wrap for my neck and shoulders. Beautiful brows from Marie. Colorist Sienna & Huan gave me color treatments that repaired a bad color from another salon. I found the reception staff to be welcoming. The staff does not "push" hair & beauty products on you, but will help you figure out a product if you want /ask.. Bad: The type and loudness of music - the hair dryer at the back of the salon where everyone walks by and you have to keep your legs and feet tucked in - the towels are a bit old.. Improvements: Not so loud and thumping music to add relaxation to the atmosphere.. Other: I have tried a few other salons in the past 8 years, but I always return to Gene Juarez because my hair is styled/colored the best there.. more

I went in for a trim and to also get a conditioning treatment done on my hair. I was told by the receptionist that a trim would not cost nearly as much as a hair cut, but when I left I was charged the haircut price. I also went in to have a conditioning treatment done on my hair. From previous experiences in getting one of these done, it takes about 20 mins to 30 mins to finish. When the girl was done washing my hair, she sprayed something in my hair and then rinsed it out; said that was the conditioner, not at all what the Kerastase website said it would be; no massage and she didn't even section it off. If that was the conditioning treatment, I have to say it was not worth the 40 bucks. Next, she proceeded to take me to her station to get my trim. I have to say, it was not worth the price they charged and I feel that I was cheated. I did not receive the conditioning treatment that I ended up paying for. will NEVER go there again. It is way over priced and I was cheated. more

I originally went the Gene Juarez at the Alderwood Mall just before Christmas to get a new style. I asked the receptionist for a stylist that is ok working with someone who isn't into a lot of product and who has a lifestyle in need of a wash n' go do. She assured me she had someone. When I was sat in the chair to start the process, the stylist was listening absently while nodding and looking at people walking by. I asked her to indicate that she understood what I wanted, she did an ok job reiterating Then the cut started, unfortunately after the first cut I was stuck. She hadn't listened and began doing what she wanted and left me with a style and shape that in order to look decent requires product, blow drying and flat ironing. There are other requirements I had that she completely blew off. They then unnecessarily told me that she was not the person they had intended me to see and she was actually a more expensive stylist than I had been quoted. They then quite rudely told me that they weren't going to charge me the higher price and that I was lucky to be getting such a deal. In good customer service this fact would not have been addressed with me as it was their mistake that I need not know about. Charge me the quoted price, eat the difference in private and move on. All in all I was very disappointed that I received such service at such a business. more

Yes, the salon was rebuilt and posh. However, I asked for the best stylist since I had been too busy to go to my favorite stylist, Lena, at Northgate GJ. Yes, the Lynnwood stylist was good, but the cut stopped looking good after a couple of days. On top of that...cuts with senior stylists costs more at Lynnwood. I'm booking 3 weeks ahead for a cut with Lena at NG. She is the best!! more

I have given my wife gift certificates for various massage places and spa experiences. By far her favorite place to get massages is the Lynnwood Gene Jaurez - for both relaxation and for pre-race (she runs long-distance races, for which a massage before can be good.) It's professional and not at all mystic. They're on time and the facilities are excellent. Gene Jaurez is quite a bit more expensive than some of the other places I've sent her, but from her reactions it's clearly worth it. more
