The hotel is conviently located in walking distance of the harbor, night clubs, restaurants, beautiful mall, theatres, trains and buses, and ferry to Cornonodo Island. No need to rent a car. It is also a short $15 cab ride from the airport. Free breakfast is presented by Martha, a longtime veteran of the hotel who takes a personal interest in making sure you get fresh fruit and pastries. Breakfast is on the sunny roof top overlooking Historic San Diego Gas Lamp District and waterfront. Merry does an orientation on Monday morning on the rooftop breakfast terrace to offer you sight seeing suggestions and informs you of special events and discounts. You can also talk with Merry at the front desk. The staff goes out of ther way to be helpful. When we arrived in the morning the room was not ready so they offered to call us on our cell within 2 hours. Please note that some rooms have better views than others and some have windows that can be opened. Since it is in the center of the action it is wise to bring ear plugs due to potential of outside noises.
