beautiful flowers 6/9/2011

One of our many stops on the road to Hana. Its a beautiful garden with peacocks and ducks and colorful flora. You also get a view of the Jurassic Park rock seen on the opening of the movie from here, mind you just a view. As for the $10...Yes, you can see some beautiful flowers for free somewhere else, but hey how often are you gonna get to visit Maui and take some beautiful pictures in this garden. more

beautiful garden 6/3/2011

This was one of our first stops during our journey on the road to Hana. This was a beautiful garden with indigenous plants of the islands. Lots of different birds and wildlife can be seen at this garden. The map of the place was a little confusing to read at first, but despite that the experience was great. It's a nice place to walk around especially for those who have children (I don't have any, but I like to look out for those who do). There are a lot of beautiful peacocks and pea hens roaming around the place too. more

It was beautiful~! 5/19/2011

On the Road to Hana this place was one of my favorite places in Maui. It was beautiful~! The entrance fee is $10.00 per person and worth every cent. It's a botanical garden and an arboretum. You can feed birds, take pictures with parrots (for a fee of course), see the Puohokamoa(?) waterfall and check out the plants. There's a 100 year old mango tree with no mangos. Weird...I don't get what's so great about it. Maybe I need to know more about mango trees to understand. Anyway, this place is very scenic so there's a lot of places to take pictures. My bf and I wore our Yelp shirts here. Keke... more

The setting is gorgeous and we felt it was worth it. 5/17/2011

Our cottage provided us a map and a cd for the trip as well as the handy little blue Maui guide book. This was one of the first stops we made on the road to Hana. The setting is gorgeous and we felt it was worth it. Lots of plants and gorgeous peacocks. I got to feed the ducks and for a while felt like mama duck when luring the little beasts off the road so cars could get by. We brought a picnic with us for the drive and planted ourselves right smack dab in the middle of the lush gardens for lunch. It was a great part of our day. more

gorgeous tropical paradise 4/29/2011

For me this was undoubtedly worth a stop on the Road to Hana. It is also worth the $10 per person access. Your contribution is going towards the preservation of this gorgeous tropical paradise and it shows! There is such a huge variety of flowers and trees here, get ready to go wild with that macro setting on your camera! The grounds are incredibly beautiful and well-kept. There are nice views of some waterfalls without the roadside parking nightmares of a lot of the other falls. There were even some unexpected treasures like banana trees (which are way cool by the way if you've never seen one). There are a whole mess of birds on the grounds including a peacock that LOVES people, lol. I probably took a dozen photos of him alone. more
