Be aware of Buywithme coupon restriction!!! When I called to make an appointment, the lady on the phone was very nice and booked an appointment for me with Chris who came highly recommended on this website. As soon as I told her I had a buywithme coupon, her tone changed and she told me Saturday's are reserved for existing clients and she was not willing to budge. This would be ok if this were listed as a restriction on the buywithme website. I was looking for a new salon and thought getting a great price on my first visit would be very convenient, but the way I was treated was a let down and I will not be using my coupon with this salon even if it means losing the money. more

Best hair ever!! 1/9/2011

I went to Fulham on a recomendation from a friend when I was looking for a new stylist. I was a little apprehensive about going to a salon in Newton because I thought it might be pretentious, but I couldn't have been more wrong!! The salon has a very welcoming and chill vibe. more

I just got my haircut at Fulham Salon with Alex after a friend recommended that I go to her. She was absolutely right! I really needed a change in my style and Alex knew exactly what she was doing. I did bring a picture of what I was looking for, and after Alex said she totally agreed, she really made it work for me. The salon is clean, modern, and everyone was so pleasant. You could tell they really enjoyed what they were doing. The shampoo and products used were great, not too heavy. The prices are very reasonable and the 20% discount for the first time was great. And my friend even gets 20% off her next haircut because she referred me! Definitely a great experience and it will be my new place to go for my hair. more

Chris is a GOD when it comes to hair... 11/20/2010

Ok, so I had been coloring my own hair for ages (black) and ended up with really bad color build up and very damaged hair. I decided I would stop coloring my hair and let it grow out. I naturally have dark, ashy brown hair... so when it grew out I had two toned hair. I waited about a year til I finally decided enough was enough and I needed to have my hair professionally ""fixed""... I walked into the salon and the first thing I noticed was that it was very clean, all of the staff members looked happy, and more importantly they all looked good! I was greeted warmly by Olga, who offered me water, coffee, tea...etc. I declined and sat comfortably on the couch while Chris finished up with the girl before me. Watching him finish with her only got me more excited about getting my hair done. As soon as he was done he greeted me by name, and with a great big hug... which was actually really nice and not creepy in any way shape or form, I felt like I had known him forever as soon as he hugged me. I sat down and we spoke about what I wanted, I showed him a picture and he immediately began calculating. (You could see the gears turning in his head). As he was doing a ""soap cap"" he took the time to explain what exactly was going on with my hair, and what he was doing... and why. (That was to break up the old color from the bottoms of my hair).. after that was done I got washed, then he applied the color (765 colortouch) (my hair is naturally a 7) (totally just repeating what he said...lol) Anyways... after that was all said and done and I could see the color I couldn't have been happier... or so I thought. Chris started cutting my hair and it was so obvious that he absolutely loves what he does.... as I watched him working on the cut he was so deep in thought, and was paying such close attention to my hair it was honestly fascinating. It was like watching an artist work on a masterpiece. I was already getting the feeling that I had found my new hair stylist... but when the cut was done my hair looked so incredibly beautiful that I finalized my decision that no one else will ever touch my hair again. Chris is just AMAZING, there is no other way to put it... his personality and his skill make him the diamond in the rough that Newton has needed for a long time! I also spoke with Igor (the owner) a bit, and he was equally as pleasant and kind... all in all I would give this salon more stars if I could because five just isn't enough! I 100% wholeheartedly recommend this salon! more

Awesome,Awesome,Awesome!!! 11/20/2010

My hair was in need of a makeover so I researched and researched and found Fulham Salon. I read the reviews and decided this was the salon i was going to try. I made an appt with the owner Igor. I had bleach blonde lifeless hair. Igor gave me a beautiful haircut and transformed my bleached locks into a beautiful redish single process with blonde and chocolate highlights which made my green eyes pop!!! This is now my new salon!! Thanks more

I used to go to james joseph studio in Boston but it was always difficult to park there , and I wasn't always satisfied with the result; so I decided to try the Newtown place after reading the reviews . more

Terrific hair salon in Newton Center 10/25/2010

October 16, 2010 Fulham Salon in Newton Center is a jewel tucked away on Beacon St. just off of Center Street. I found it walking by the shop and discovering they had the shampoo I couldn't find outside of the Berkshires. I't not the fanciest place I ever had my hair deal with, but I had a really good hair cut and coloring with Alex, who is just lovely. I will certain return for my two month visit, and look forward to it. more

Fulham Salon - I think I found my new home! 10/19/2010

I stumbled across Citysearch and the reviews for Fulham Salon from the James Joseph website. I am not exactly sure why I chose to call Fulham (over James Joseph) but I did. I made an appointment with Igor to have the Keratin treatment to my hair. I have the type of hair that looks great for about 5 minutes after I finish styling it, then looks like a frizzy ball of confusion! I arrived at the salon and was greeted by Christopher. Igor promptly appeared and took the time to answer all my questions, first about coloring because I want to change my ""bleached blonde"" hair color and then about the keratin treatment. He then proceeded to start the keratin treatment. I could tell by watching him that he truly loves what he does. The treatment took about 3.5 hours. Some of the time was spent talking to Igor and some was spent in comfortable silence. Christopher was entertaining as he sang along to all the songs that played, I might add, all the songs that were hits when I was 21 years old. He was great and very sweet. I left the salon with the straightest, silkiest hair I have ever had in my life. I spent the next 4 days waiting to finally wash my new silky hair. I finally washed and styled it before work on Monday morning. I arrived at work and from the moment I did I received nothing but compliments on my new hairstyle and cut. The funny thing is that a scissor never touched my hair. Igor, you did a fabulous job on my hair and have gained a new client. I will be back in 2 days for the ""changing of the color"". I don't know if I am quite sold on the ""copper"" color you suggested but I am sure whatever color is chosen it will look great. See you then and thank you so much. My hair, even bleached blonde, looks wonderful! I am looking forward to the next HUGE step, THE COLOR! more

Best Salon (..and I'm from NYC!) 10/8/2010

Fulham is an absolutely wonderful place! I have the pleasure of working with Alex, a mature, talented and flexible stylist/colorist. She always listens to what I want, instead of pushing a vision like many colorists do. I used to make a lot of changes, but I am so in love with my color and cut that I'm keeping it! I grew up right outside of NYC and often had my hair done at some top salons in the city. I've never experienced the quality of service and outcome there that I do at Fulham. We are so fortunate to have such a gem here in Newton! more

The best place to get a haircut & color.... 8/19/2010

and I've tried them all... but never found that one stylist I loved enough to stay faithful to. I was finally happy going to James Joseph for about a year when my husband happened to schedule me an appointment with Igor. I LOVED my 1st cut & color with him, but didn't want to get too excited, maybe it was a fluke. Nope, it wasn't. He's a genius. That was 3 yrs. ago & now that I have 2 kids under 3 my hair looks even better than it did, before Igor, back when I had an hour to spend doing it. He gives me a beautiful, simple cut, that even I can make look good, in less than 20 min.(and it's longish) and the color looks great forever. Another big plus for me is the salon. Zero attitude, friendly, professional, very nice staff. more

Best New Salon in the 'burbs! 4/7/2010

I walk by Fulham Salon often, and have wondered how a British salon wound up in Newton. Yesterday I finally stopped in for a much-needed cut. Igor was so gracious about the poor state of my hair! But most importantly, I left feeling like a new person. Everyone says I look SOOO much younger! The cut is excellent, I can't wait to go back! Also, the prices are very reasonable. Great expiriance! 3/7/2010

I have lived most of my life in Europe,London UK,since our move to Boston I have ongoing challenge with hairstylists!There was always sommething missing after I have my hair done(colour&cut,short)!Very fine line it is of a great feminne short style and mens look.I found it!!This salon is a discovery! I have tried couple of stylist there,incuding the owner,so down to earth and so good work! I recommend, very much! Pros: Unique! more

Christopher is a hair GENIUS!!! 2/27/2010

Christopher has been working miracles on my hair for years now, and I wasn't about to let his change of location change the person I trust with my hair. After all, isn't hair one of the very first things you notice about a woman? And you wear it every day...so you can't trust yours to just anybody. Christopher knows, somehow, exactly what semi-permanent color is going to brighten up my skin tone and always give me a haircut that leaves me walking away feeling like a supermodel. Seriously, the guy is just beyond AMAZING. The new salon he's at is super close to the Newton Center T stop, and that is great for me since I don't have a car...and getting out of the city is a surprisingly nice way to catch your breath. So if you live in or near Newton, you just scored a gem in getting Christopher close by, and if you love Christopher and live in the city...don't worry. He's not very far away at all. My New Home!! 2/24/2010

Honestly, I've practically lived on the street all my hair life and I was just tired of the big wig salons and how they look down at people looking to get the most bang from their buck. My girlfriend recommended Christopher to me from a show she saw in September, this thing at the Liberty Hotel. I asked if he cut hair, and she gave me his card. I did my homework and found out he left the street, which honestly put me off. I decided to trek out there anyway because I needed to meet a friend and dropped in. There's only 3 people in there, Igor the owner and Chris and Alexandra. All were super nice but let me get to the point: Chris took care of me! He took the time and the EFFORT to actually listen to what I wanted out of my cut and color. I got a cut, highlights and blow dry that looked amazing in all the mirrors. My cut and color has lasted and I am definitely going out of my way for good service. From what I hear, lots of people do that anyway, drive miles and miles for their hair. He's super nice and funny and price beats any Newbury price. Three words: GO TO CHRIS. You won't be sorry. Finally I have great ""new mom"" hair! 2/6/2010

I stumbled upon this salon on a google search and said, what the heck let me try it. How bad can it be. I was actually presently surprised. Igor gave me a new mom haircut. Its easy to manage for a mom and working woman on the go. Having two little babies at home and my own dental practice to run I do am not left with much time for my hair do. But now I have a five minute hair routine which makes me look and feel great! Thanks Igor! Pros: good hairstylist Cons: hard to find a parking spot. more

Finally! A true gem in Newton Center 1/11/2010

This is the salon that brings the talent and skill level of a high-brow James Joseph Salon right to Newton Center! I've been a client of James Joseph Salon for quite some time and loved it, but to be honest didn't like the drive to and parking on Newbury whenever I need to get my hair done. Well, to my utter excitement, Igor, the talented London import, opened Fulham Salon right in my neighborhood. Igor and his staff are amazing and provide excellent customer service from start to finish. I got a great consultation regarding my color and Igor chose a haircut that shaved good ten years off my face! Simply amazing! I felt like a participant of ""before"" and ""after"" show. Fulham Salon is welcoming and not intimidating and the price is right so I highly recommend to check it out! Thank you, Igor, this has been a fantastic experience and I will certainly be back again. Fulham Salon is a brand new salon, with an awesome senior styilst (owner Igor), and a rising talent, my new styilst, Alex. She's done my hair a couple of times now and she always takes what I want and makes it something that will look great on my head. Personable and spunky, she's entertaining as well as a good price for the way I look when I exit the salon. Seriously bring a camera with you because the before and after will leave you speachless. Igor came to the US after working 16 years in London, UK where he worked for some of the world's best salon owners, including Toni and Guy in Kensington, before he established the first Fulham Salon/ London UK in 1999 following up with another Fulham Salon in his native Belgrade, Serbia in 2002.
