This beautiful home, just across the Anacostia from downtown, has a commanding view of DC, which should have made Frederick Douglass proud. Most appealing is the small stone building where he absconded to write; least appealing are the hordes of school kids. Can't they just watch TV? To get a real feel for the neighborhood, which is less grand than in Douglass' day, take the metro and walk. Or just park in their convenient gated parking lot. more
