I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food at Franina, especially after seeing the drab décor. Fortunately the two do not correlate, as every dish my sons and I had, from appetizer to dessert, ranked right up there with some of the better Italian restaurants on Long Island. What impressed me the most was the fact that the chef cooked me an off the menu dish without hesitation and did not gouge my wallet. They just earned a new patron.
