Understood and got a great experience 5/19/2007

First I tried as a walk in, and the Maitre D told us that they were too busy to take walk ins, to maintain a high level of service and food. After reserving for the next 3 days, The Maitre D, (a guy) was very helpful, gave us a nice table, and seated us promptly. My friends from New York, real foodies, were impressed with the quality of the food and service, and loved the shell fish. My favorite: gazpacho soup, and the steak frites. Leave room for desert, especially the Paris-Brest.\r \r more

New place in Culver City 5/13/2007

My girlfriend and I tried it the first week they opened, the service was a bit on the slow side. I think they were still trying to work out the kinks with the staff. The food more then made up for the service, I thought the pasta was excellent, the wine list was very reasonable and the steak was perfectly cooked. We also had a wonderful cheese plate as well. Hopefully they will work out the slow service but this place is worth a try. It's another wonderful addition to the hot Culver City restaurant scene. Pros: great food, nice patio seating and reasonable wine list Cons: service was a little slow but bearable more

Great food, but Rude Maitre'D 5/12/2007

After a terrible experience a few months ago at Friache decided to go back this week. Have to say the food was great. The branzino is excellent. One problem, the maitre'd is really unpleasant person. He makes you feel like he is doing you a favor by talking to you. Wish he would leave and this would be one of the best palces to eat in LA. Pros: Great Food Cons: Rude Manager more
