Great donuts! 9/10/2008

Fresh donuts, topped right there in front of you. Great amount of toppings to choose from. They are a bit greasy and messy but that's half the fun. Better than anything you'll get at KK or DD's. Simply a great donut place. Pros: Tasty, Fresh, Fun Cons: A bit pricey for a donut more

I really don't like doughnuts 5/12/2008

...but Fractured Prune is making a liar out of me. Fresh, hot, and topped to order. Call ahead or you'll wait forever for more than just a couple. They're a little heavy and could be considered greasy when they cool, so don't let them get cold. My favorites are black forest and chocolate covered cherry but they've all been pretty darn good. Pros: Yummy, best doughnut I've ever had Cons: Wait times, but hey they're made to order more

Simply cake donuts; made to order 12/14/2007

No yeast donuts, no filled donuts - just cake donuts. If you're going to only do one thing, you should do it right; and Fractured Prune does cake donuts right. The donuts are very light for cake donuts, not too crusty. Pros: Great cake donuts Cons: No filled or yeast donuts more

At least once - you have to try it 8/31/2007

Great to see a FP open up in Brier Creek. When we have a craving for donuts, we go here - just like when we're at our beach house! If you are a fan of donuts (& who isn't), give this place a try. I would agree with previous posters that the lemonade donut is a bit overwhelming, but we must have tried 20+ other flavors over the years & all of them were fantastic. Tell me I'm wrong! Pros: Hot, fast craving for your sweet tooth Cons: I've had better coffee (but that's my personal preference) more

Amazing Donuts 8/15/2007

If you like donuts or not, you will like these.. they are outstanding. Them make them as you go in there & top them with whatevery you want. You have to try them at least once!!! more

Don't have to wait in line at the fair!!!!!! 8/4/2007

I lOOOOOOOOOOOVE these donuts!! My husband and I grew up eating the cake donuts at the fair in West Virginia and frequent the tiny donut shop here at the NC state fair!! Well, one day, I discovered the Fractured Prune and got some plain cinnoman sugar donuts (like the ones at the fair) and took them to my husband. I thought he would freak right then and there......KK Donuts are a NC staple but they are different and now that the Fractured Prune is here.....there is no need to bash them! There is room enough for both because they are so very different. My only complaint is that they don't have ice for my milk but it was cold anyway~! Keep up the great work and please go try one.....keep it simple at first so you can enjoy the freshness and heat of the donut. Thanks, fractured prune!!!! I don't have to wait until October to have a great donut!!! Plus for the price of a dozen at the fair, I can get one donut at FP that is 20 times the size they make at the fair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Everything......hot Donuts!!! ALL the time...without a sign....... Cons: No ice machine more

Best Donuts Anywhere 7/6/2007

When I found out the Fractured Prune was coming to Raleigh, I was both excited and scared. Excited because my family vacationed in Ocean City, Maryland from the 70's-1990 and the Fractured Prune (Ocean City is where it originated in kind of a carry-out/grocery store) and the Prune was a part of every morning breakfast. My father and I would leave our condo a 7 a.m. to get the hot, made-to-order, melt-in-your mouth donuts. Scared because now that the Prune is so close, I will be there way too often and easily put on 10 lbs. Pros: Everything Cons: Location hard to find next to Carolina Ale House at Brier Creek more

Too greasy and heavy. If you like Krispy Kreme donuts, you probably won't like these. 6/13/2007

If I may say so, the reason there may not be more negative comments listed here is that people don't want to offend the owners, who are apparently dedicated to commenting on each of our posted comments. My purpose, therefore, in writing this review, is not to offend them, or cake donut lovers, but rather to be constructive. Pros: Nice staff Cons: Greasy, day glo donuts. more

GO HERE ASAP! 5/31/2007

I am a huuuuuge Krispy Kreme fan. Although I was dying to check this place out, I was doubtful that I'd like the donuts. I was wrong! The cake donuts were terrific and made even better by the 15 types of glazes and 10 types of toppings. Our group of 4 ordered a dozen for breakfast - we weren't sure we'd each be able to eat 3, but we had no problems once we tasted them. Yumm. Not only is it really neat to be able to design your own donut, but they're also warm! I will be back as soon as I can - I just wish they were open in the evenings so I could make it there more often. more

I LOVE THE FRACTURED PRUNE YUUMMMMM ( GO PRUNES) 3/25/2007

I went for the first time a couple days ago and tryed the O.C glaze and loved it I found my self making grunting noises, they were very nice and had great conversation skills. They were very informative about all the policies for example if you buy a shirt and wear the shirt back to the store you can get a free donut. I also really like how they made the donut fresh and I love the look of the store. Overall I would give the Fractured Prune a 9.6 I think adding music to the store would have helped the atmosphere. Pros: Good Food Cons: Decor was a little bland more

Great donuts, so many options, can't wait to go back! 3/21/2007

I read about the Fractured Prune on a local paper and went the next day. It was great. I had a banana and chocolate donut, SO yummy! Also, since it was our first time there, we were given a free donut, which was a great touch. I just loved the whole made to order, pick all the glazes and topings, concept. Pros: great concept, delicious treats Cons: limited opening hours, could offer more gourmet coffee options more

If you like your mouth coated in oil then try this place 3/11/2007

Bad donuts... greasy Pros: Many choices Cons: Bad donuts, many choices (takes forever to order a dozen) more

You must try this place! 2/6/2007

Wow! This was my first thought when I tried these donuts. You can create your own donut and then they are made for you, hot and fresh. My favorites are caramel glaze with oreo cookie crumbs, peanut butter glaze with chocolate chips, and the sugar donut. My wife had a breakfast sandwich which she really enjoyed as well. This place is just amazing. Pros: The food and service Cons: No compaints or concerns more
