The Scene
It's the only golf course in Minnesota managed by a state park (Fort Ridgely). Opened in 1927 with sand greens; you had to rake after putting. Now the sand is gone; the greens were converted to artificial grass in 1988. No sand traps or water, but a very woodsy setting and hilly terrain make for challenging play. Scenic, with the bluffs of the Minnesota River Valley surrounding the course and fort site.
