Forest Park Golf Course

Played Forest Park for first time last week and I was pleasantly surprised. The place was in great shape, and all seemed well until I got to the 1st Par 3 and had to wait 30 minutes. This seems to be common at most of the Par 3's. On approaching the Tee for the 4th whole, I should have turned around and gone home. I soon discovered a practice green between the 3rd & 4th holes. Unfortunately, the two foursomes in front of us were Asian and did not speak English or I would have asked them to hold be on the ground and beat my nuts with a Driver. After 6 hours, I gave up at the 15th hole.\r \r I would like to go back and play when its cold out and no one is around. Pros: Nice Shape Cons: Hopefully your not doing anything for 8 hours more

Played forest park last week. Course was in very good shape for a city course. Highly reccomended. Only 15 mins from the city by car. more

First off, let me get this out of the way... if you own and drive a car, you should never, ever play one of the city courses... you should be driving out to Long Island or more upstate, where you will have your choice out of a plethera of superbly maintained and designerd courses. -- That being said, As far as layout, and variety of holes, and challenge goes, Forest Park is my favorite city course. As far as grooming conditions, it is in the worst shape of all the city courses, and any other course i have ever played. --- As stated earlier... hopefully you own a car and can go play real golf, on real golf courses.... if not.... then play whatever course is closest to where you live, as none of them are worth your 8 hours. Cons: fees, condition, pace more

I play 2-3 times a week and find this just as challenging as all the other big boy courese. stay here if you to become a pro because just when you think got all the shots you will need more for here to master this course! Bob Smith and Mike Fesler (And their staff/Ground crews) Have done an excellent job on referbishing Forest Park Golf Course. It is in the best shape that I have seen it in DECADES !! Gentlemen, I applaud you. Thanx !! Neal Boyle more
