Editorial review from Citysearch 10/3/2013

This daycare is awesome! It's wonderful for little dogs like me who are under 10 pounds because there is a special little dog indoor and outdoor area. It's super clean and always staffed with the nicest people. Highly recommended! more

I love this dog daycare. They have always taken the best care of my dog. It's clean and the people are awesome. After only one time of going there they knew me and my boy. I recommend them to everyone. more

Doggie Wonderland! 4/7/2011

A former employee referred me to them. (first good Karma point there) .... I was seeking a refuge for my Golden Retriever puppy while in class all day. My first impression while going through the door (after noting the convenient potty station immediately adjacent to the front entrance) was how clean, fresh smelling :) and attentive Rodrigo was. At that moment I thought, ""Hey, this is the place""! You are immediately (if not sooner) greeted, and participate in what I thought was a pretty thorough ""in-take"" process with regard to your dog's health history and documentation. You do of course get a first class tour of the facilities, after your best friend is led off with tail wagging! Play areas separated according to dog sizes, outside areas with lots of doggy playground equipment. BTW: Only filtered water for Fido too. A good people-to-dog ratio and you get the distinct sense that these folks have it ""hooked up"" and care about YOUR dog. To top it all off - watch out for the clever and impressive surprise you get when you are a first timer picking up your dog. (Can't say what it is - just TAKE YOUR DOG THERE.) Trust me on this, bohemian gypsies know best. more

Love them! 6/8/2010

I love For the love of dog. They take great care of dogs and run a wonderful facility. I tell everyone about them and they all agree. I use them for daycare as well as grooming and have always had the best of service. They have also given me excellent referrals for boarding places, since they don't offer that service. This is a place that has been around for years and I trust completely with the care of my baby. Pros: staff and daycare more

Fabulous!! 5/16/2009

This place is fabulous. I have been taking my dog here for the last few months and I have nothing but great things to say about For the Love of Dog. Rodrigo (the dog trainer on site) has been working with my puppy to complement the training that I do at home and it has made a huge difference. The staff is great and they put a lot of personal attention into each dog. I trust them 100% with my dog. I am so happy to have a place like this; For the Love of Dog has really helped my puppy grow into an incredible dog! They also have a lot of goodies for sale. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Pros: Staff, training, spa Cons: Does not board more

Expert Care in a Beautiful place 3/12/2009

For The Love of Dog turned this naive puppy owner into a pro. Because I work so much, I didn't have time to exercise or train my new dog. When I found this daycare it all changed for me and I was so impressed by their knowledge and care. I am now dropping her off 3 days a week and sometimes on Saturdays. There is a man there who is doing training with me and, i know this may sound strange, but we are also doing a treadmill session every week. Now my 11 month old has manners, isn't hyper and is a joy to be around. Pros: Located close, in business for over 6 years, great staff Cons: absolutely none so far more

First Class Doggy Daycare 7/27/2008

My wife and I searched far and wide before we decided on For the Love of Dog for our 2.5 year old beagle. We're from out of town and wanted a very reputable daycare for two days. Well, FTLD far exceeded our expectations. I was impressed by how much paperwork we needed to complete before letting our dog ""go"" off. This is a good sign to say the least. It definitely didn't feel like a dump your dog and run facility. We were given an explanation and tour of the doggy daycare. The dogs really looked like they were having a good time as well as the employees. FTLD staff is very professional and experienced with dog handling and care. My wife and I were a little nervous at first, but by the time we walked out the front door and got into the car, our nerves subsided quite a bit. Pros: Friendliness, Cleanliness, and Professionalism more

Always Friendly Customer Service 4/18/2008

I am writing this review in response to the review below from ahunt06 who claims to have had bad service at the daycare. I am employed by For the love of dog and have worked here for 3 years. I am also the one who was helping this woman and have to tell what REALLY happened. more

Rude 4/17/2008

The staff is extremly rude. I was treated badly and when I tried to explain what I was looking for the man I was talking with would not let me finish a single sentance. If you like to be treated like you know nothing about your own dogs then this is the place for you! more

Best Dog Daycare in Denver, Paws Down! 2/8/2008

For the love of dog is fantastic. They are great with the dogs and great with owners as well. My dog Will comes home happy and well behaved! I never fear that he will play too rough with other dogs at the dog park because I know that the staff at for the love of dog has taught him to play in a non-agressive manner. Another reviewer was so right, for the love of dog is the private school of dog daycares! Pros: Service, Location, Facilities, STAFF! more

It's like a Pristeige Private school compared to other daycares ! 9/9/2007

This place is well staffed and makes sure to play with my dog in the dogs own small ""Ball Groups"" multiple times every day so that all dogs that come here get the one on one interaction that they deserve at daycare. Their groomers do a great job and all the dogs are well loved and cared for. I've seen over 4 different daycares in the metro denver area and this one is by far my favorite. I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else ! Pros: lots of playtime, cute merchandise, helpful staff more

My dog - the happiest pooch since going to For Love of Dog! 7/31/2007

This month was the 3rd Anniversary of our little rescue dog joining our family. She's a high-energy girl and needs a doggie day care! The first 1-1/2 years we sent her to a good facility however this facility did not separate the dogs by personality or size - so she was still a little crazy and fearful being with the large dogs. We switched to FOR LOVE OF DOG on the recommendation of many of our friends. (They do separate dogs by temperment and size) You know they do love your dog. My little girl has had a total personality change since going to For Love of Dog - she was always sweet, but now she has manners - yes really -- and she is one happy pooch! She loves playing with the little dogs and she loves the staff -- these guys are great. It's obvious to me that we made the right move when we brought her to the For Love of Dog family. Before there was always a fight getting her nails trimmed -- what am I talking about -- I couldn't even touch her feet or brush her. Now after the crew at For Love of Dog has groomed her and trimmed her nails and brushed her teeth -- she trusts them and us -- they are gently loving and caring. Taking our girl to For Love of Dog was one of the best decisions we have ever made -- I totally recommend this doggie day care - your dog will be happier for the experience. Pros: Dogs are well cared for and gently taught good manners -- Happy Pooch at end of day! Cons: Can't think of any -- except they should be open 24/7? Only joking more

Overcrowded daycare 7/28/2007

If you want a daycare that is overloaded with dogs (hence, no cameras) then this is the place for you! Who cares if they give you pictures online! Install video cameras so we can see our pets play! The reason so many people are attracted to this place is because the staff is friendly and the colors on the wall are impeccable. If you're looking for your cheerished pup to be bombarded with a bunch of other dogs then this is the place for you - especially if you want just one or two people supervising. Ever notice how the owners are always up front and never in the back with the dogs??? This place easily allows over 90 dogs per day - no joke - they'll never tell you that and you'll never be able to see the MASS amount of dogs because again, no cameras (it's no coincidence folks). Imagine logging online, excited to see your pup playing, only to realize that he/she is stressed out because there's too many dogs. Just my thoughts. Pros: great wall colors Cons: No cameras! more

Professional, friendly and SO caring! 6/18/2007

I have been to several doggie daycare facilities and grooming services over the years, and no one compares to the team at 'For the Love of Dog'. They went out of their way to help me today after I had unexpectedly acquired a rescue dog. He was in desperate need of grooming. Not only did they clear their schedules to make room for us, but they also talked to me about the specifics of caring for a rescue. Pros: Clean, smelled great, VERY friendly staff more

Hot Dog! This is THE place 1/10/2007

For those of us without kids, our dogs get to reap the benefits. Doggie daycare is not a new concept; however, what you get varies a lot here in Denver. I always tell friends to do some heavy-duty research before committing and to go to each facility, talk to the staff, take your dogs, and WATCH and LISTEN to what happens. I did just that and ended up at For The Love of Dog a few years ago (if anything, they get the award for the most clever name). My two pups love it there -- the play areas, both outside and inside, are not to be beat, but they especially like the people. And there are plenty of wonderful folks there who are well qualified to handle your dogs. Each dog -- and I mean EACH dog -- is special and is recognized as such. There are no cages, which is a relief since my guys are no longer crated. There's plenty of space for down-time and play-time where big and small dogs are separated. I am extremely pleased with how clean the place is, which is a huge item on my list. And the other amenities are terrific --- great varieties of organic dog food and treats, plenty of toys and other things that I run out of (hey, forget to get chew sticks at the market? They've got 'em). I really like that every few months, a well-qualified veterinary doctor comes in for bordatella and anesthesia-free dental cleaning, which my guys love (me too!). How about those huge tubs for baths? (do-it-yourself or let-them-do-it); this is especially wonderful given the snowstorms we've been getting. So, why take my dogs anywhere else? If I did, I'd hear about it since I am out-numbered. I surely don't want a doggie mutiny on my hands! Thanks to everyone at FTLoD -- so glad you are here. Pros: Terrific facilities and staff Cons: Parking lot sometimes gets a bit full at key times; wait a bit and it'll clear out. more

Best for little dogs 12/25/2006

I found this business on City Search and am very impressed. I had been looking for a long time for the right fit for my pom. Biggie loves it there and he is always separated from big dogs. I highly recommend for anyone with small dogs. Pros: they don't crate the dogs ever more

Best of City Search 9/9/2006

I found this place from your best of City Search this year. It's even better than you describe. Pros: awesome selection of food and collars! loved the clean facility. more

Thank you City Search! 4/10/2006

I had to add to this. I found this place from best of City Search and drove 10 miles to get there. There were others closer to me, but none that even came close to this place. It's much nicer than any pet place I have ever visited. They really know dogs at For the love of dog and I now go out of my way every monday, wednesday and friday to give my dog a treat. It is worth it. When I was searching for a place, I noticed there weren't many crate free facilities and I have to wonder why. I love the fact that my dog never has that experience and has all the fun he wants. Pros: staff, facility, clean & my dog loves it Cons: far from home more
