Editorial review from Citysearch 6/12/2013

Can't beat the value really. Just need to choose which building to stay in. The building i'm in is awesome! Great neighbors, good people. I do admit, some neighbors from the other buildings are just horrible... but do your research and you'll be fine. \r \r Also, I see most of the reviews are old... management has changed, and so has the service. more

I found Flatbush Gardens through the broker who works for The Rowe Group. I saw the apartment on 1410 Brooklyn Avenue a really liked it was convenient for me. I filled out the application brought in all the required documents (social security, identification card, bank statement and proof of income) and was approved since I am under programs and paid the application fee. In order to hold the unit I paid half the Security $550 with a money order since they don't accept the government voucher. The lease was printed signed I was excited, and took it to my HRA caseworker. The Deed was missing and the (DHCR) The Division of Housing and Community Renewal. I went online printed a copy and decry office on 555 Hanson Place on Atlantic Avenue. When you go to the office make sure you have a copy of your id and copy of the lease in order to get a print out of passed tenants history. Yesterday 4/17/12 Sharon called me to find out where to go for the dhcr. Shouldn?t she know this information? She give my caseworker a date to come in a when she came had forgotten. My case worker did the inspection which was approved an sent over my packet to the city for there approval which was later DENIED because they found two Department Off Building Violations-Active for failure to file annual boiler 2010 inspection report issued on 12/13/11 which need to be DISMISSED.I brought in physical proof an didn't get any feed back. I called the broker to advocate for me. She emailed Rick Miaw Leasing Director that they have my security since I paid the balance $350 why can they give me a next unit? The following day we came in Sharon the secretary said we need to make an appointment she's no seeing us on the schedule. I came back the following day for 9am was not seen until 11.30am. Frances gives her 1364 New York Avenue. When we arrived she forgot which one it is so she knocked an open most of the doors which were occupied by tenants take note if you decide to live there put an extra lock because management has a key an can open your door. We went back to the office an did the paper work once again it was printed I signed an left it for Rick to sign as she say?s don't know what time he comes in his own timing"" along with the landlords statement. She is unprofessional I have pity her since she is expecting has to answer the phone, make appointments, show the unit etc .I would recommend that someone needs to train and educate her. As for France the bully whom would try to talk you down or make you feel bad Monkey knows what tree to climb on. Not all potential clients would put up the with your attitude! I picked up the lease and did the same routine this was in March I made the lease for May 1st which was later denied 2 open violations 1) Issue to elevator-failure to file category 1 2010 inspection/test 2) Failure to certify correction on immediately hazardous (class 1) ECB violation. I brought the proof once again to the office an emailed bought rick and Rafael Garcia Director of Operations about my issue that I would like a refund since I have not lived nor moved in. Rick replied to me and cc Rafael and France Chastise. Sharon had given me the wrong email. more

Awful Place 11/24/2009

This place is so unique in their utter lack for respect for people. It is only viewed as a place to make money and the upkeep is awful! I don't know who wrote that last review, but I would bet it was from somebody in the office because I don't know anyone who is happy there. There are so many options in NYC please look elsewhere! Pros: Nothing! Cons: They do not care about their tenants or people! more

Don't be fooled 1/28/2009

I lived in Flatbush Gardens for 4 years. It was a nightmare from day one! Management doesn't not have the tenants best interest in mind. They constantly give the runaround with excuses of why things can't get done. more

amazing value, surprised gentrification hasn't taken this over yet 1/28/2008
