I was very nervous about dropping my puppy off to have this surgery. (This was several years ago.) They took ""Lexie"" from me, and took her to the back. She started howling and crying. Then I started crying and wanted to change my mind. (Very tramatic scene..lol) The employees brought her back to me, let her (me) calm down and discussed why I had brought her there in the first place. I agreed it was for the best, and left her still howling like a hound. (She at the time was a 10 pound cairn terrier.) They called me in the middle of the day to give me an update. When I went to pick her up, she was so happy, and wanting to jump around. They gave me great at home instructions and more than enough RX. She continued to do great at home, and you can barely see where the surgery was done. more

I can't say that I would recommend this service if your time is important to you. 9/12/2007

I was the FIRST one to be checked in at 7:30 a.m. I was the only one to have my paperwork already completed (requesting neutering and a microchip) by printing it off the internet ahead of time and was told to pick up my 6 month old Pug no later than 4:00 p.m. I called at 11:00 a.m. to see how he was doing and he hadn't even been seen yet. I showed up at 3:30 to pick him up and he STILL had not had his surgery. It seems that a lot of irresponsible pet owners had brought in their pregnant dogs and cats - 7 (seven!!!???? - can you imagine?) according to the receptionist - which means the one and only vet had to both abort and then spay these poor animals - which amounts to 14 surgeries instead of 7 according to the receptionist . Alright, fine and good - glad to see these people finally taking some responsiblity - but HOW IS THAT MY PROBLEM AND WHY SHOULD I BE PENALIZED by having to wait - my puppy was the VERY LAST animal to be operated on while I was the VERY FIRST one through the door that morning. The receptionist wouldn't even allow me to sit in the waiting room until my dog was ready - WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE AT 5:30 P.M!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT????? And it was like 95 degrees that day. I live in West Knoxville and I wasn't driving back and forth to Seymour again. Anyway, my poor puppy was finally neutered and brought directly out to me - with absolutely NO recuperation period. He cried all the way home. I was very upset to say the least. I took him to FIX-A-PET because of their prices - they're a lot cheaper than my regular vet and I thought I'd try to save some money but I can't really say it was worth it. I would definitedly recommend getting your dog or cat spayed or neutered - but FIX-A-PET seems to be for lower income people. So, if you can afford it, pay more and take your pet to your regular veterinarian. Pros: cheap Cons: very little parking. An old house converted into a clinic. more
