Wake up everybody just because they are a chain does not mean they are the best. I saw the health dept signs yesterday morning at around 11 when I came with a friend to get a burger. I don't buy that story about there permit ate there burgers a few times only because a buddy of mine likes them. I saw a vast amount of oil and grease in my burger gross some people like it what can I say to me it is a health hazard. I also saw oil on the floor. I will just go to shake shack instead if others want to continue to go to this location it is up to them. as far as am concerned the way they make food is bad for the health especially when they over cook it. more

lots of oil in the burger with slip slop service 4/15/2012

I was not too pleased with this location came here tonight to get a burger to go fries and a drink. The taste of the burgers and fries were dismantled by too much oil and grease and it was dripping all over the place, almost got oil on my cloths. The guy behind the counter was polite but very clumsy he didn't seal the covers right on the containers some of the soda spilled on my shirt. The burger did not taste good and it was over cooked, don't know whats happening to alot of people they seem to think fast food chains are the thing they are not. more

not happy with this location 4/14/2012

I came to try Five guys out during the lunch hour and started to feel disappointed at 1pm in the afternoon when the rush started it took too long to finally order my burger, when I do get it it tasted terrible too much oil and grease. They don't cook them medium rare which Iam annoyed with the cashier said it is for health reasons which don't make sense to me. more

too much peanut oil and grease got me sick 3/20/2012

I wanted to give five guys a chance because there was so much hype about it. It just so happens when I ordered a bacon burger well done because they don't cook them medium rare from what an employee told me. I had that with fries and a drink, like the fact that you can get free refills on sodas. This burger had so much peanut oil and grease that not only it almost leaked on my cloths but made me feel light headed later in the day, maybe iam allergic to the peanut oil and might not have been aware of it I don't know but whatever the case cant eat in a store that cooks burgers that way sorry not for me find another burger joint like always. more

Did not like the burger too fried. 1/24/2012

I respect the fact that alot of youngsters who are from the heights are very happy to eat over here. I unfortunately did not like the way they cook the burgers. There is too much peanut oil grease and I can tell it is a frozen Pattie. My brother cooks for a living so we have experience in these matters. We prefer to go to Shake shack on 409 Fulton street at the beginning of the mall. more

too much oil and grease please go to shake shack 1/14/2012

I tried this store a few years after they opened everywhere and to be honest did not like the burger or fries. They put too much peanut oil in my fries and burger. The wait on line was over 25 min. Please go to shake shack on Fulton st better burger and store. more

Not my kind of burger 1/6/2012

This is one of the most horrid burgers me and my mom have ever tried and cant believe they opened up in my area at Carrol Gardens. There is too much grease and oil in the burger, soda tasted very flat. Our fries were very oily and over cooked. we get home later in the day and started throwing up iam sorry this is not my kind of burger to eat rather try out shake shack next time. more

Best burgers around!! 9/17/2010

Their burgers are so delicious!!! I love that fact that you can purchase your burger with all toppings free. Most other locations will charge you a $1 or more per topping. It is kinda expensive for a full meal ($12) but you get a lot for your money. more

a chain that is overated and knows how to promote 10/9/2009

to be honest I would rather go to a small res or diner. Iam tired of these chain stores taking over the block and the burger was not that good. It was soggy and over cooked. Pros: good advertising Cons: not good burgers more

most horrible burgers and fries 9/17/2009

My wife and myself like alot of burger places but this one didnt take the cake with us. The fries were soggy and the burgers were too soft didnt feel like real burgers it cost us 22 bucks for two people too much money just to go up the steps. Pros: fixed up nice Cons: food tasted bad more

Worse burger and fries 11/18/2008

Don't know where this place got to be billed as great burgers and fries, but I wouldn't go back to it if you paid the bill. Fries were limp and soggy and my dog has had better burgers to eat. Pros: liked the decor Cons: food was terrible, I'd rather go to Mc D's more

best burgers in the world 10/3/2008

Five Guys is not cheap. It's not really fast. What it is, though, is a good honest burger made right in front of you and served with some of the best fries you'll ever eat.\r \r Toppings are plentiful and all available for free, and the ""default"" burger is a two patty monster. The buns are okay (not great) but the meat really shines. Don't be turned off by the ""we only cook it well-done"" part. I promise you these are as juicy as any burger you've had anywhere else. If the idea of a two-patty burger seems daunting (and believe me, it's a big burger) then go with the ""Little"" burgers, which are one patty only and a hair cheaper.\r \r Oh yeah, did I mention they also serve grilled cheese sandwiches (on an inverted hamburger bun) and hot dogs (split down the middle and served sandwich style)?\r \r Fries also are plentiful, and in fact too much so. DO NOT get the large. The regular fry is enough for two people and then some, plus they always throw a helping of them directly into your bag.\r \r Five Guys is one of my favorite places, it's worth every penny, and if you're into burgers, you have to try it. Pros: great burgers and fries Cons: small and price more

One of The Best Ever 9/9/2008

This place definitely has one of the best burgers I have every had. It comes plain, you pick all the toppings. Fresh never frozen meat. Oh and the fries! Still have the skins on them. You can get them salted or cajun. For the ones with a sweet tooth and people from the south SWEET TEA, its good. The only flaw in this place is they use peanut oil and have shelled peanuts to eat while you wait. So if you are allergic to peanuts not the place for you. \r more

Great Burgers and amazing Fries 7/22/2008

I was looking for something quick and easy for me and my son last night for dinner. And we spied upon the new Five Guys burger joint. I couldn't have been happier with the pleasant service, great burger, and most of all a happy child who got exactly what he wanted and quickly. Everyone knows that a hungry 5 year old is a loud 5 year old! My burger was great and Sam couldn't have been happier. Thanks Five Guys! Pros: Quick Easy Good and great for kids more

Nothing special, burgers way too overcooked and dry 7/15/2008

Burgers are my forte, therefore, when I heard that Five Guys opened my venture was to explore the delights of yet another burger. Unfortunately, the disappointment had taken over my appetite. First and most importantly ?THE BURGER?. The burger is most important aspect of your business and it should be the best of quality, this is your bread and butter, but yet I?ve had hockey pucks that have tasted better. The simple order of cheese burger without any special request was overcooked and dry. The place is too small and if more than 5 people are there, it?s crammed. The decor is nothing special, seems like 50?s style gone wrong. There are way too many people behind the counter that seem dazed and confused, presuming they are being trained, and with all that people to service we were still waiting a good amount of time for our food. I?ve had my experience and now I?ll move on to a better place. Pros: It looks clean Cons: The burgers overcooked, poor quality of meat more

Best Burgers Around 4/15/2008

I was hanging out with friends in BK Heights and was craving a hamburger. I know the Five Guys chain from DC and i wanted to see if it was just as good. AND IT IS!! The staff was super friendly and really nice (probably bc we are out of nyc!!) Burgers + Fries = i am in love with Five Guys!! Pros: HAMBURGERS!! FRENCH FRIES!! SO CHEAP!!! Cons: cant eat it every day more

Great Burger! 8/8/2007

This is by far the best burger on Montague Street... the fries are pretty good, too. The space is really cramped and there aren't great seating options, but the food (and the wait) is worth it. Pros: burger, service, free toppings Cons: cramped space, long wait more

Too many untrained cooks in the kitchen 7/17/2007

I just tried the place out. First off, they must have about 9 people behind the counter. It seemed like they were all training because the girl on the grill was the only one working and instructing the rest of the crew. There was an Asian guy who stood staring at 4 burgers for 2 minutes and 43 seconds (I timed him) without touching them. I'm still trying to figure out how the other 8 employees could ignore the orders that were not going out. Mine was one of them and all it needed was BBQ sauce and to be wrapped up. OK, I understand they just opened so I will let this go. As far as the taste, the burger was OK (all burgers are cooked well done), nothing to write home about. The fries were very good. I think that Henry Street Ale House has a better tasting burger (you can get it cooked the way you want it also), and their fries are almost as good but not as crispy as Five Guys. They should really consider delivering. I will try them again. They seem like a clean operation. Pros: Great fries. Cons: Staff is confused, more
