AN ATM MALFUNCTION AT THE CONOCO STATION AT WALL EXIT ON I90 JUST RIPPED MY BRIDE OFF FOR 502USD. THE MACHINE INFORMED HER IT WAS PROCESSING THE TRANSACTION THEN AFTER A LONG WAIT RESET TO TAKE THE NEXT TRANSACTION. WHEN SHE TRIED TO WITHDRAW AGAIN IT INFORMED HER THE DAILY BALANCE WAS EXCEEDED. NO CASH WAS ISSUED. NO RECEIPT WAS GIVEN. THE BANK WAS CONTACTED AND GIVEN THE TRANSACTION INFORMATION POSTED AS A DEBIT TO THE HOME BANK IN ALASKA. THE BANK SAID ALL THEY COULD DO IS PROCESS A DISPUTE FROM THE ALASKAN BANK. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. UPON NOTIFYING FIRST INTERSTATE BANK BY PHONE, ON THE SAME DAY OF THE ERRANT TRANSACTION, AN IMMEDIATE INVESTIGATION OF THE FAILING ATM SHOULD HAVE BEEN LAUNCHED BY FIRST INTERSTATE BANK AND THE ERRANT TRANSACTION SHOULD IMMEDIATELY BE CORRECTED ON THE SAME DAY.
