This church is friendly, welcoming, and non-judgemental. Its worship services are traditional, but not stagnant. Children and teenagers have an active part in worship. People are challenged to think for themselves, to wrestle with important issues/beliefs. Worshippers share in communion each Sunday. The pastor is capable, caring and energetic. The 135-year-old congregation has a historic landmark building, with massive columns and grand front stairway. With a glorious pipe organ, it's an ideal place for a wedding. It has a new roof, freshly-painted classrooms, a spacious fellowship hall and kitchen, a library, and a youth activities room with ping-pong table. It's active in the Ministerial Alliance, the Christian Service Center, and Council of Churches of the Ozarks. The church helps people in the local community and throughout the world. It has adopted 1.4 miles of Highway 39 through downtown Aurora for litter cleanup, through the MO Dept. of Transportation's ""Adopt-a-Highway"" program.
