Using FAVL for my move has been an absolute disaster. On the day of my move, when all of my items were already on the truck, the movers informed me that the estimator omitted to include the bed (the biggest item that I was moving). When questioned, the estimator indicated that he ?assumed? that the bed was not being moved. Besides being completely unacceptable for an estimator to make assumptions without asking questions, especially since I was moving a bedroom and a few other items (not an entire house). He informed me that there was nothing that he can do, and that I would be responsible for the extra cost , increasing my original estimate to 150%. Since everything ws already on the truck, and I would have to pay for them to take then off, I decided to continue with the move - BIG MISTAKE. On the day of the delivery, there was a lot of damage to furniture: chips, cracks and broken glass, & of course, I found out that they charge extra for stairs, including the first flight, which I was told by the estimator to be free. Also, the movers DID NOT review the inventory list. I realized that some boxes were missing, and had to INSIST that they check their inventory (should be routine). Once checked, they confirmed that, in fact, some boxes were missing, and that they may have dropped them off at their prior drop-off!?! It's almost a month now, and my boxes are still MIA. The supervisor indicated that they do not have it in their warehouse and that they must be with the person to whom they delivered before me (who, according to First American, denied having them), and that all they can do is continue to follow up with that person. In addition, they have not kept me updated as to my missing items, unless I call them for updates. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. Everything one can fear in a move has happened with this company: (i) increase in price at the last moment, (ii) broken furniture and (iii) missing items. I do not know how they still have their license!!!!
