This is your standard pub fare in an old firehouse - a great location with *gasp!* parking, but the food won't overwhelm you. It's good, not great, and probably a fun spot on week...

We had a nice time 1/26/2007

My wife and I came here for dinner. The inside is interestng. It apparently was a functioning Firehouse many years ago. We had hamburgers and they were done nicely and very, very good. We also found the service to be attentive but not hovering. Prices are moderate. We had a great time. I can recommend them. more

Where's the Fire 6/30/2006

Fire House Grill has had a few previous lives, one as a Mexican restaurant, but it finally seems to have matched up its location (and old fire station) and its personality (standard American bar fare, like burgers and salads). There is a full bar, and this is a good place for lunch on the weekend. There always seems to be plenty of room to sit (and park, a rarity in Evanston). I've had pretty good service here, but friends have complained. If you need a good place to meet a friend and are craving a burger and a beer, this is a good place to hook up. more

A unqiue looking place 5/13/2006

It probably won't surprise you that Firehouse photos and memorabilia line the walls of this once working firehouse in the heart of Evanston. Giant booths and good food have brought me and friends back on more than one occasion. The blacken salmon sandwich that I had was awesome. My friends were not as impressed with their food. There is a full bar on the main floor and a game room and bar on the upstairs level. I have been here three different times, once the service was not so hot but the other two times it was great. All three times we showed up it was at lunch time, I'm willing to try this place again in the evening hours and see how it is then. Maybe I will shoot some pool next time here. more

A restaurant in a firehouse! 2/20/2006

This is a really cool place to have a great meal. Not only is the food great, there's a lot to be seen at this restaurant. What once used to be a full service firehouse, has been turned into a resraurant with tons of memorabilia left behind for customers to see and learn from. I find this to be an interesting experience as well as a great eat. They have a large menu and though I have only tried two of the meals so far on this menu, they have been really great! more
