Fat Rams Pumpkin Tattoo

Based on the 1 review already written here about Chad, I decided to go to this tattoo parlor. I went in as a walk in. I had a tattoo that needed covering up and the person up front told me that it would require that I make an appointment for cover ups. I asked if I could show it to him and get some recommendations for my next appointment. When he saw how little it was he said ""Oh, that can be done today."" Very accomodating. I finally decided on a butterfly. I didn't have anything in particular in mind but when I was assigned to Chad (yes, I got Chad without having to ask for him... how fateful) he just created the butterfly on the go. I gave him very little specifications around size and color and told him to take off with it.\r \r So a couple of things:\r a) I had the tattoo cover up the name of a former boyfriend. I was afraid that the name would still be detectable under my new tattoo... but it's NOT! It perfectly covers the horrible name that was engraved on my skin a few years earlier.\r 2) When you replace someone's name, you better do it with a tattoo artist that you really like, because face it, everytime you look at your tattoo, you will have the face or experience of the tattoo artist branded in your memory. So I was very happy to replace the idea of my ex with the idea of Chad. He is very friendly, thoughtful, and the conversation was seemless.\r 3) My tattoo was fairly small (the size of a half-dollar at most, so if you do need a cover up, you probably need to make an appointment if you have a large or complicated tattoo to cover.\r 4) If I get another tattoo, I would definitely go back to Chad. I love, love, love, love my butterfly. It wasn't copied from a book or a magazine, so it is an original depiction of an unoriginal species. It is my very own and it is beautiful and I love it.\r \r Highly recommend. Easy to park. If you are waiting, just ask how long the estimated wait will be and get some food in the area. I LOVE FAT RAMS! \r \r Ive been tattooed here twice, by Chad ""Chesko"" and so has my best friend... we both love Chad!!! he has excelent bedside maner lol and he isnt afraide to give you his real oppinnion... if you like to talk while being tattooed, hes awsome... he'll actually give you a real conversation and not just grunt and nod at whatever your saying. Chad is the man!! The work he did on me was great, on my back i got a little girl with birds in her hair, and on my chest i got two dogwood blossoms, both a gentle and very girly... he was deffinatly catering to what i wanted. My friend however got small wings on her back, and a WONDERFUL hand drawn japanese style pheonix! Her tattoo is so sick, if you want japanese style art, dont walk, RUN to fat rams and make an appointment with Chad!!.. They are super busy there and its usually appointment only, you can wait anywhere from like 2 weeks-2 months for a tattoo by chad. and for Fat Ram hes already booked for 2008!! Chad however takes walk ins on saturdays and sundays! BUT get there at twelve sharp because he books a full day in the first 15 minutes, when we went we got there at 11:30 and waited around for dagan (the assitant manger) by the time chad got there, (12:30) he already had six tattoos to do, and was booked for the day. Everyone in the shop is really chill, and they are cool guys to hang out with. I always feel really comfortable there... except for when you first get there and its just dagan, he doesnt turn any music on so it can be a little awkward... but it takes all of 20 minutes for the artists to roll in and kick up the volume haha. I will deffinatly go back to fat rams! and even if i dont get tattooed i would stop by just to see the guys, Fat Rams is great... and not that it matters too much but i think they are very reasonably priced, and still top notch work!
