My husband's stepmother used to say she found lots of bargains at Family Dollar so I decided to look around. Now, I have to say she lived in Indiana and that may make a difference but I thought our Family Dollar store was awful! The merchandise looked like cheap, imported crap to me. All the figurines had wayward paint strokes and sloppy faces, for instance, and the clothing was made out of cheap, stiff, scratchy material. I thought the prices were higher than I can find at Wal*Mart, Big Lots, Dollar Tree or Dollar General stores. I've not been back since.
