My house being over 100 years old had major problems with basement moisture and cracks in the back part of the dwelling which is a sandstone foundation! The floor was part bricks and gravel and no inside sump pump and proper outside drainage were installed before Everdry of Pittsburgh came to perform their work. My basement smelled moldy form all the moisture accumulation over so many decades! We had over 5 waterproofing companies estimating our basement situation. Everdry was not the least expensive, but had the best approach and answers on how to remedy the problems. The crew headed by Jeff was polite and very hard at work on this very cold month of January 2014. They installed french drains outside our house and drains inside to connect to the sump pump and also added a Easy Breath fan which eliminated the moldy/moistury scent that was in my basement before! Of course we ran into some issues, my house being so old : outside ditches were hard to dig around porch because of some old poured concrete (they had to use a jack hammer) and the new set of steps was hard to install going to the basement. Overall the job was to our satisfaction aslos a bit stressfull at time not due to the crew but to the layout of our house and the very cold wear at the time!\r Cecile B, New Salem PA more

I just got the work done this past week. I would like to commend Jeff & his crew on the professional work that was done to my house. Before they started the job; Jeff thoroughly went over all the work to be done & we discussed where the pump system would be located. They were respectful of my property & placed plastic over everything including the door way to my upstairs so the dust wouldn't travel up to the first floor. It only took 1 1/2 days to finish the job. The crew squirted down my driveway before they left. On the completion of the job Jeff showed me everything they did & how the pump works. I was very pleased with the conduct of the crew & the work that was done. JL, Cranberry Township, PA more

Satisfied Customer 11/4/2010

When Mark and his crew showed up they began work almost immediatly even while Mark was still explaining everything to us the crew was starting to get everything going. I was amazed at how thourogh and quick the work was. We plan on selling our home after the basement is finished and Everdry's lifetime transferrable warranty will be featured in our description as well as pictures of our now waterproof basement. more

I would recommend Everdry to freinds in need. 10/28/2010

My experiance with Everdry this past week was very positive. James and his crew were very efficient and kept me abreast of the progress and plans as things went along. They did a very good job of cleaning up after they were done even cleaning off my siding afterward. I would recommend Everdry to friends in need of this service. The company was very thorough about every aspect of the job from the initial presentation through the entire job and its completion. more

glad we didn't sign 6/8/2010

This was our first of 3 estimates that we had scheduled to get, and thank goodness we didn't fall for the high pressure sales and sign. The estimate was around $13000 and could be dropped about $1500 if we agreed to be on standby, plus we were told that we would get $1500 in tax credits- don't know why exactly and the salesman just kept stating that it was because they used a product that nobody else used. So we told them we'd think about it and the next day the office called and said that they had a dramatically lower price to offer us after talking to the owner of the company and they were really interested in helping us get our basement dry, but they couldn't tell us the price over the phone. The chief representative had to come out and tell us the price in person. After spending almost 2 hours the previous night, this put me over the edge... plus we had already gotten another estimate for less than half the everdry price. Just know what you're getting into if you call for an estimate from this place! Pros: salesman was pleasant Cons: shady company more

Job well done 4/20/2009

On May 19, 2008, Everdry's crew arrived to begin trenching our outside perimeter. We were very impressed with the dedication and courtesy displayed by them. One of the young gentlemen even asked if it would be permissible to smoke outside. We were also very impressed that we did not hear any foul language or loudness from any of them. If we had any questions, they stopped what they were doing to discuss or answer our queries. When they left for the day, everything was neatly stacked to the side in preparation for the following days work. The next morning they arrived on time and went right to work. Each one knew his duty and applied himself to accomplishing it. When they finished filling the trench, they raked the dirt back and smoothed it out. We had already shown their brochure to several of our neighbors prior to having the work done and after seeing the care the crew displayed, we will certainly be glad to recommend Everdry Waterproofing of Pittsburgh to more of them. Pros: timely and efficient more

epitome of what is wrong in the business world 9/3/2008

salesman george eberhart came into our home a few years ago on our request to provide an estimate to repair a bulging wall. we were sucked into his hours-long schpiel about waterproofing and possible insect infestations, complete with props and assurances that our was ""wanted to right itself,"" and we allowed ourselves to be pressured into his dirty high-pressure sales tactic. we financed over $10,000 for the repairs, and were even pressured by the foreman to sign off on the work when they had not completed much of the work they had promised (ie the bulging wall, which they now say we had no contract for--our stupidity for not getting the scheister of a salesman to put his words explicitly on paper..he's even told the owner of the company we're liars who are trying to take them to the cleaners...how dare we trust a company to stand behind its name and salemen! what is this anyway, 1940?)\r it's been one frustrating disappointment after another, and the wall is coming in more than ever with not much help in sight from everdry...if i could give them no stars, it would please me to no end...please do yourself a favor and don't even let them onto your porch...they're as crafty as the devil himself! Pros: ghastly-effective sales tactics Cons: every dishonest tactic imaginable more

Sneaky sales tactics - don't fall for them - just get an estimate! From another company! 4/28/2008

I contracted to fix my wet basement. I have no doubt that EVERDRY did a good job (but no better than other companies I'm sure). However, I have had time to think about the way their representative conducted his sales pitch and I must say I am not pleased with some of the tactics.\r \r Showing me a figure of around 9,900.00 and offering to drop it down to around 8,500.00 under the condition that I sign on to be a standby customer (for a three month period) is just wrong. I feel that using this tactic; Everdry puts the consumer in a position to have to make a choice right away ? preventing them from being able to look at the competition. Furthermore, they tell the consumer that this price will not be honored and the standby offer given to someone else if the choice is not made before the representative leaves that day. I feel that this is a sneaky tactic to prevent people from talking to the competition and if Everdry does such great work, it is unnecessary ? it only makes them look like they have to dupe their customers into working with them.\r \r Their representative proceeded to tell me that the materials will be cut right away and held until the work begins and that I am financially responsible for those materials - another sneaky way to keep the consumer from talking to the competition, insuring them the sale.\r \r Also, the sales representative told me that the financing was 90 days same as cash ? however, after the financing went through, it ended up being 90 days deferred and the interest was accumulating immediately. I plainly asked him if it was definitely 90 days same as cash (because I had the money, I just wanted to float it for 90 days to let it collect some interest before paying off the financing) he confirmed that it was 90 days same as cash. I called Everdry after finding out it was not 90 days same as cash ? they offered to send me a check for the interest that had accumulated. It's been months and needless to say she has not sent me the check. Pros: Did work like most other waterproofing companies Cons: Dishonest - Unethical sales tactics more

Bad customer service, will not fix problems that arise, 12/19/2007

Our basement leaks just as much as before Everdry came to our home to ""waterproof"" our basement. The work they did - did NOT waterproof our basment at all. We have been trying to contact them for 6 months since we originally got the work done - and they have not fixed anything yet! I do not recommend this company AT ALL!!!!! They are very disappointing to work with....and a waste of $10,000! I would give them a ZERO star rating if i could. Pros: i guess they have good salesmen - they talked us into signing up for this rip-off! Cons: bad customer service, bad work quality, awful value....i cant say enough bad things! more
