Owner is crazy mean scammer. Barefoot, screams, clothes all over floor, food everywhere, looses people's clothing and lies to them, dogs pee in clothes, terrible. Saw her flip out at girl who was just looking because she didn't want to buy. And also lady who wanted her money from a scarf of hers that sold, owner Eva screaming at lady it wasn't sold or was stolen, but lady showed Eva that Eva was WEARING it! Eva B= lunatic scammer. Dear ""bequick"",\r \r I'm going to have to defend my shop in this matter because I know where your ""anger/disappointment"" comes from: none of your items sold (they were outdated but I was nice enough to give them a chance selling them) and you did not like the fact that none of them sold. Stealing is an ongoing problem everywhere in retail, unfortunately. And guess what they are going to steal? the high priced items, of course! So, go make a difference in the theft problem, instead of putting a new business down for a missing pair of used shoes! There is a saying in hungarian: ""If you can't say anything nice, than just don't say anything at all!"" And read the contract again: ""We are not responsible for stolen items."" It's all there in the contract you have signed. You read it, signed it, and took a chance! It was your choice to do so.\r \r more

i've brought in several pieces for consignment, most of which was high-end items. several of my pieces have been lost or i've been given back items that were never mine. if you are bringing in nicer more expensive garments to consign, be prepared not to get them back (if they don't sell). There used to be a consignment shop in Brookline but it closed fast after changing ownership. I picked up lola magazine and found the closest which was in J.P., since I'm a ""second-hand shopper"". took a few of my girlfriends with me and I have to say that Eva B is totally different from other consignment shops. The shop is all pink and you kind of get lost in the displays at first; it's really unique and artistic. Her Swarowski chandelier is reflected in the many vintage mirrors on the wall . Quite amazing. An art itself. Oh, and she has a small lounge area for people waiting for their partners. Cool. The selection of clothing was impressive; classic to funky. The shop is more like a chic boutique to me than a boring consignment shop. Check out the high-end jeans and her spring collection along with her designer handbags! Her place is like a lounge with sweet goodies! Check it out yourself! The owner gave me her cell# just in case I needed a dress last minute after closing hours or even on her days off! I was shopping away in Newton Center and with my purchase I received a ""LOLA"" magazine (by Boston Globe) and there was an ad that struck me: Eva B or Not To BE. So, I went on a quest to check out the edgy image that was portrayed in the magazine, and, to my astonishment the actual shop was trendy, edgy and inviting.The selection of high quality merchindise: IN THE NOW , L.A. Made, J. Brand, Wendy Hill, Dutchy, Almas was very impressive. The shop owner was very ""down-to-earth"" and helpful, and not pushy at all. With the items I was considering she actually said, "" Sleep on it.."" So, I did and the following day I made several purchases. A nice experience. I will be back. more

This is a cute little shop. To all the guys if your looking for a designer bag for your lady Eva B has a great selection to choose from. No worries about standing around tired and bored because there is a comfortable couch that you can chill out on while you wait for your lady to shop. The owner is cool and easy going. more

So ~ I've never written a City Search review before, BUT after visiting Eva B's FABULOUS boutique in JP, I felt obligated to say CHEERS to a place that makes any girl feel right at home - like it's an extension of her own closet she always wished she had.... Fun purses, jewelry, dresses, tops, jackets... Somewhere at Eva B, you'll find the item you were never looking for that's now your most favorite staple in your closet.... (At least, that's been my personal experience each time I've been there). I've walked away with some of the best purchases I've found anywhere in a long time...LOVE my designer PYTHON bag, THEORY knit top, cranberry crocheted scarf...........Even skin care products that she sells have made such an amazing difference since I started using them not even one week ago...If I could tell every female I know out there, I would ~ that Eva B is one of the coolest & most unique shops in Beantown. Music is awesome, events where wine, cheese, & crackers are complimentary for customers... Common now ~ how much fun can you ask for when shopping for fun & girlie clothing & accessories??? \r \r AND ? In response to ""NO PLUS SIZES"", I have to say: As far as her dog?.NEVER, has he barked at me, nor have I seen or heard him bark at anyone on any of the numerous times I have visited the store. Eva B's is a gem for consigners, browsers, shoppers, and lovely people in general. Eva goes out of her way to accommodate her clients -- staying open late, keeping clothing desires and dress size of regulars in mind, and hosting periodic wine and cheese parties. Over the last year I have sold several items and bought even more -- absolutely cherished and welcomed additions to my wardrobe. Unique skirts, high end jackets, funky dresses -- there's lots here for the dedicated consignment shopper. I could not recommend it more highly! more

Coming from out of town to visit my girlfriend, while shopping in Jamaica Plain we saw a charming storefront that is Eva B. My girlfriend was fascinated with the shop windows and so we went in. What a beautiful, funky place: pink walls, a crystal chandelier, great music and terrific, eclectic merchandise. (And this is coming from me!) My girlfriend was thrilled! The shop owner, Eva, was very friendly, graceful and helpful. My girlfriend saw many items that she liked, and tried on several dresses, etc. and finally chose some really nice skirts, and a blazer that looked absolutely wonderful on her. I myself felt very comfortable sitting on a nice Victorian couch and enjoying some nice, light snacks and the company of the proprietor's charming, well behaved poodle, Gucci. A wonderful experience. I know my girlfriend will be back, and so will I with her when I'm in town. more

There aren't many places in JP to buy women's clothes, so Eva B's is a welcome addition. The store is colorful and filled with dresses, skirts, pants, shoes, bags and jewelry. There's a friendly vibe and the prices are great!\r more

A friend told me about Eva B's so I took a trip to Jamica Plain to see what all the fuss was about. I arrived a little before noon on a Tuesday. The store opens at noon so I sat on the bench outside and waited for the store to open. After waiting over an hour I decided to walk down the block to a thrift store. I spent a whopping $15.00 and walked away with two pair of pants and a blouse. I went back to Eva B's since it was now past 1:00. The store STILL was not open. I checked my watch, walked into the pastry shop next door (Sweet Christophers) and bought a coffee and a tart. I asked the woman behind the counter about the consignment shop next door and she replied that the owner (Eva) Never opens opens on time. So now the time is 1:30 and I am once again attempting to shop at Eva B's. The store was now open and I was so happy to finally see what the fuss is. The store is extremely clean, the color scheme is pleasing, there are pictures all over the walls that just add to the charm of the place. The woman behind the counter does not even acknowledge my presents, she's multi tasking on her cell phone and computer. After doing a quick look around I clear my throat in an attempt to gain her attention, no such luck. I go up to the counter and say excuse me, and she tells her party on the cell to hold on a minute. I asked if she carries plus sizes and she says yes the sizes go all the way up to 12. I think my jaw dropped when I heard her calling a 12 a plus size. I looked a little longer at the jewelry she had in two cases and then left. I honestly don't think she even knew I left. SO! The shop is beautiful, the sizes are not plus sized, oh and she has a dog that barks at people while they walk by the shop. The woman behind the counter does not make matters better when she screams the dogs name louder than the dogs bark. Pros: If you are not a plus size, and love to shop without anyone talking to you this is a place for you Cons: No plus sizes, no one greeted me, the dog was obnoxious, and the woman working was rude and self involved more

Eva B. Consignment is a fun place to find all that is funky and chic in J.P. I would highly recommend it. I have shopped there many times and I get numerous compliments on the things that I buy there. Easy on the budget, high fashion at a discount. You just can't beat that. \r \r Beautiful decorum. I found the owner, Eva B. engaging and personable. I am always able to get free fashion advice from this haute coute savvy woman. The store is simply a gem. Pros: lots of unique one of a kind, high fashion items at a discount. Cons: parking. take the bus or park down the street in the muncipal lot more
