Ernies Automotive is honest and fair. 11/16/2009

I just went to Ernie's for a battery. They were very friendly on the phone and in person. They took my battery and charged it, tested it, and sold me a new one (as I expected). I waited in the waiting room with my 2 y/o son. They kindly interacted with him and gave him a toy. While I waited, I saw them interact with several clients. One lady was charged less than quoted on the phone. When she asked about it, they replied that they didn't need to do one of the services they'd quoted her after all. "Well that's even better!" she said. After today, I think I'll use Ernie's for all of my mechanic needs. They seem to treat their customers fairly and with dignity. more

Amazed! 4/24/2009

Everyone at the shop made me feel valued and they fixed my problem at a reasonable honest price...Highly recommended! They went above and beyond. Not only was my car running great, they washed it for me too more

On-going service 2/11/2009

Fifteen years ago I received a $700 bid from Midas to replace my shocks and shock bumpers on our Volkswagen, although the car seemed to operate properly. I was advised by a friend to take the car to Ernies. After a short examination, the manager said "Bring the car back when something is wrong. Your shock bumpers are beginning to wear but won't need replacement for quite a while." Shortly thereafter, a neighbor had a similar experience when AAMCO and the Dealer recommended a new transmission. Ernie's replaced the transmission fluid and cleaned the filter. Neighbor's car ran fine. \r \r The $40 service the other poster mentioned? That's what Ernie charges for a routine 30K, 60K or 90K periodic service, plus parts and labor. The dealer tries to charge $200 to $400 for the same service. You decide. I've gotten to know the mechanics. They are absolutely top notch. more

Reasonable price.... will it compete? 4/19/2006

I was looking for a new used car. One of the private seller told me about this place. The location is really difficult to find as it seems like in a complex of run down junk yard business. I took my old car there and they took care the car well with a very reasonable price of service.\r \r When my current car was 30k, I took it to local dealer shop for service, in less than 60 days after the service I got check engine light on. It cost me $800 after 2 times go back and forth and most of these cost are the labour hour cost.\r \r But when my car was 40k miles, I took it to Ernie's for the service, it cost me only $40. However, they didn't give me information on what individual service they did. \r \r I hope they can really compete with those big player, as I am sure their mechanics are very good. I heard good things about them. So far, now in 47k, my car is still in good conditions without any problem. \r \r So absolutely, I will recommend Ernie's to everyone. more
